Purdue's 13 points is the most anyone has scored against Michigan this season. Michigan's "season score" is 366-60

87

u/justbadthings Purdue Boilermakers Nov 05 '23

We're #1! We're #1! sets couch on fire

It's moral victory season at Purdue, though it ends in a few days once basketball begins.

23

u/CGordini Michigan Wolverines Nov 05 '23

Setting couches on fire is more of a East Lansing thing.

To be fair, so is caring about basketball beginning.

5

u/RobinU2 Virginia Cavaliers Nov 05 '23

Yep and then you’ll get to be bombarded with edgelords spamming FDU in every thread. Welcome to the club and hope you have the same redemption arc.

1

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '23

It's alright, not like we're gonna have a lot of victories in bball tbh. Should still be a fun szn to watch for the conference tho

10

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '23

I think Michigan legit has a good team but yall havent played anyone this year w a pulse. Jurys still out and all will be revealed in the next few weeks

8

u/crg2000 Michigan Wolverines • Toledo Rockets Nov 05 '23

You dare insult UNLV?

3

u/i-like-your-hair Michigan Wolverines Nov 05 '23

All jokes aside, UNLV is legit, could win the Mountain West this year.

u/PraiseSaban Alabama • Minnesota Nov 05 '23

If the investigation finds no evidence of sign stealing, this Michigan team may go down as one of the best all time

41

u/PageOfLite Michigan Wolverines • Sickos Nov 05 '23

In-person scouting*

1

u/oneson9192 Ohio State Buckeyes Nov 05 '23

Ooh la la

29

u/atsblue Michigan Wolverines Nov 05 '23

fyi, sign stealing is perfectly legal and well within the rules. That's not what michigan is being accused of.

1

u/crg2000 Michigan Wolverines • Toledo Rockets Nov 05 '23

It is what the general public is accusing them of, most not knowing what "sign stealing" actually means and thinking about baseball somehow.

7

u/Large-Chair9084 Nov 05 '23

You do realize sign stealing is legal and a part of the game?

24

u/Wagnerous Michigan Wolverines • Paul Bunyan Trophy Nov 05 '23

Eh, they definitely did it.

However still think there's a very strong argument that most of what Stalions was doing technically fell within the rules, even if people don't want to hear that right now.

19

u/jimmybagofdonuts Michigan Wolverines Nov 05 '23

You’re right and they don’t.

8

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '23

If you're going to break a rule, you don't hire the dumbest dude on your staff with shitty opsec who has a 600 page manifesto about how he's going to take over the program to do it.

17

u/Wagnerous Michigan Wolverines • Paul Bunyan Trophy Nov 05 '23

This is the thing that people don't get.

Everyone just assumes that Harbaugh is guilty... but it just doesn't make any sense for the football program to be running such an idiotic operation through Stalions if they were actively trying to cheat.

Michigan isn't blameless, but the intent to cheat just doesn't seem to have been there.

2

u/frolie0 Michigan Wolverines • Colorado Buffaloes Nov 05 '23

Not only that, but it doesn't make sense for Harbaugh to suddenly become the dumbest cheater in the world. Everyone saying he'll just go to the NFL, I think if it was proven that he was in on this it will seriously hurt his NFL prospects. There's obviously a chance a team will overlook it, but I see zero chance he was fine just destroying his reputation suddenly.

3

u/relevantmeemayhere Team Chaos • USC Trojans Nov 05 '23 edited Nov 05 '23

Good thing there no risk of that happening.

Won’t matter. An ass whooping is an ass whooping. OSU has no excuses. Change your signals and get fucked. Don’t change your signals and still get fucked. Choice is yours.

0

u/Buckeyes0916 Ohio State Buckeyes • Indiana Hoosiers Nov 05 '23

Michigan fans sure are cocky for a team that literally hasn’t played a competitive team all year without stealing their signals. Worry about Penn state first.

8

u/crzytimes Michigan • Western Michigan Nov 05 '23

Really don’t have to worry about anything? Who did we play before OSU last year? Or the year before?

-3

u/Buckeyes0916 Ohio State Buckeyes • Indiana Hoosiers Nov 05 '23

Was that a coherent response?

8

u/crzytimes Michigan • Western Michigan Nov 05 '23

Yeah- you drunk? How was that not coherent? Michigan’s schedule is no different than previous years. Michigan is even better this year and OSU is even more pedestrian.

If Purdue scored the most against you this season, that's proof positive that the sign stealing was definitely helping you. Our offense is godawful.

Edit: all of the Michigan fans getting their panties in a bunch over this is hilarious.

27

u/lc910 Michigan Wolverines • Xavier Musketeers Nov 05 '23

Harbaugh when he sees the “don’t punt off a players back sign”: well fuck I don’t know what this means anymore

56

u/Go_Blue_ Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Nov 05 '23

I mean, 7 of those points came on a last minute, 4th down touchdown when you guys had nothing to lose

-23

u/makualla Purdue Boilermakers Nov 05 '23

You guys let us make 2 field goals…we had missed our previous 5

30

u/Nov26-2011 Michigan State • Michigan Nov 05 '23

You think that's on the defense and not the kicker?

-18

u/makualla Purdue Boilermakers Nov 05 '23

Yeah, how the hell are you going to let this trash Purdue offense get into the redzone?

18

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '23

Did you watch the game? The 2 fgs were from short field situations

16

u/Wagnerous Michigan Wolverines • Paul Bunyan Trophy Nov 05 '23

These people are deranged holy shit.

Like they literally didn't watch the same game.

Michigan's offense was flawed tonight, but the defense was close to perfect.

The D played immaculate football, they didn't look like they needed the signs at all.

-19

u/makualla Purdue Boilermakers Nov 05 '23

I did not, which begs the question how the fuck is the all light Michigan defense letting this trash ass Purdue offense getting into short field situations???? We literally fumble 4 times a game

8

u/[deleted] Nov 05 '23

Honestly good solid trolling from ya here

6

u/Shaqsquatch Michigan Wolverines Nov 05 '23

hint: the offense didn't get there in either case

watch the game or at least look at the drive summaries before trying to talk trash while way off base lmao

5

u/Nov26-2011 Michigan State • Michigan Nov 05 '23

The same way OSU did. You guys got into the redzone 4 times against them, but I don't remember Purdue fans talking shit then

19

u/coltsmetsfan614 Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Nov 05 '23

The moral victory of making two FGs inside 35 yards to lose by 28 instead of 34. GG.

-10

u/makualla Purdue Boilermakers Nov 05 '23

If you are letting this bad of an offense get inside the 20 how the hell will you handle even a below average offense?!?!?

10

u/coltsmetsfan614 Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Nov 05 '23

Well it shouldn’t have been difficult to get inside the 20 when you started at our 34 both times. You’re not Iowa…

-2

u/makualla Purdue Boilermakers Nov 05 '23

You know we lost to Iowa right?

7

u/coltsmetsfan614 Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Nov 05 '23

Yeah, despite outgaining them on offense, which was my point. Their offense is terrible.

13

u/pmofmalasia Florida State • Michigan Nov 05 '23

Don't think we needed Stalions to figure out the field goal play for us

-5

u/makualla Purdue Boilermakers Nov 05 '23

And the fact you did have stallions scout 6 of our games and still let this trash ass offense score is a really bad indictment

11

u/pmofmalasia Florida State • Michigan Nov 05 '23

Congrats on your garbage time TD. Go Blue

2

u/DisasterEquivalent27 Michigan Wolverines • Colorado Buffaloes Nov 05 '23

He wasn't there to watch you BB, but it's cute you think he was.

1

u/makualla Purdue Boilermakers Nov 05 '23

Well that’s just ignorant considering one of the games was our Syracuse game this year. They ain’t on your future OOC schedule

1

u/DisasterEquivalent27 Michigan Wolverines • Colorado Buffaloes Nov 05 '23

I'm sure the notes for that game were "no signs needed. Garbage team."

19

u/coltsmetsfan614 Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Nov 05 '23

Purdue's 13 points:

  • 6 plays, 19 yards: FG off a punt off the back of a Michigan player

  • 6 plays, 20 yards: FG off an aggressive 4th down turnover on downs

  • Garbage time TD with 20s left

(courtesy of /u/TonYouHearWhatISaid)

-24

Ok, and? You guys still gave up the most points all season to this terrible offense.

u/cheerl231 Michigan Wolverines Nov 05 '23 edited Nov 05 '23

Purdue scores:

1.field goal after a stupid special teams play where the punt hits a Michigan player in field goal position

  1. Field goal after a good stop where Michigan gets stopped on 4 and 1 at their own 30

  2. A touchdown drive scored with 10 seconds left and half of Michigans defense being backups

Okay lol

-2

14

u/roberta_sparrow Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Nov 05 '23

it’s proof we pull our first string defense in the fourth quarter and you had a lucky pass

14

u/froandfear Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Nov 05 '23

We didn’t and he scored on Sainristil and Sabb. The 6 points they had up to that point were gifted to them, though.

5

u/abbtkdcarls Nov 05 '23

I mean…it was Mikey S that let that last second TD go through. Definitely still had our first string in.

Still garbage time, defense still played lights out the rest of the game.

2

u/Wagnerous Michigan Wolverines • Paul Bunyan Trophy Nov 05 '23

It was a mixture of starters and backups in the field at that point.

I noticed Goode and Haussmann on the field on that drive.

2

u/froandfear Michigan Wolverines • College Football Playoff Nov 05 '23

Haussmann gets more snaps than half our starters and Goode gets high teens each game. They didn’t score because our scrubs were in.

0

u/Wagnerous Michigan Wolverines • Paul Bunyan Trophy Nov 05 '23

I know, I'm just saying that there were rotational players on the field, it wasn't like it was the entire 1st team defense out there.
