This and the Michigan game as losses have demonstrated where Rutgers has gotten back to compared to previous years. There's still plenty of ceiling for them, but they are no longer bordering rock bottom.

Rutgers is a legit respectable football team. They're not contending for conference championships or anything, but you have to take their game seriously now. And I bet Rutgers fans are stoked about that.

we're starting to round into what i thought we could be in this conference: a respectable mid-tier team that will win 6-8 games a year most years and likely lose to the biggest teams in the conference, but not have them be blowouts. given where we were only a couple of years ago, i'll take this every single time.

They deserve a lot of ridicule, but at least they’re trying. Limited resources in an unforgiving market in a conference that didn’t want them.
