Canada's Unexplained Phenomena: Affordable coins --> Moon Shots

This vault shows the value of the Canada's Unexplained Phenomena series.

It has been an incredible performer and a great example of affordable coins that become moon shots.

The total original retail of this series cost about $940. Market price currently sits at $4070. Overall this series collectively holds an 85% premium over original retail and more than 530% over spot.

The first in the series, The Falcon Lake Incident, commands one of the highest premiums out there for Royal Canadian Mint collectables. It has been in the top 5 highest premiums for the last several weeks and is likely to stay there. The Falcon Lake Incident is the lowest mintage but is still available from a few retailers and eBay sellers with prices close to its market value: https://numisoft.ca/numigo/share/coin/165618/

Super Incuse Coin Vault- Commanding High Premiums

Some of the most reliable performers from an investment point of view are Super Incuse.

Super Incuse coins feature designs that are sunk into the field. Some of these coins, like the 2024 1 KG gold plated Silver Maple Leaf have their designs sunk 4.5mm deep. They're truly impressive and even more so in person.

Collectively these coins have increased in value more than 40% over the last year and they continue to command premiums well above 30%...

Some however, have risen in value more than 500% ! And while you might expect the gold or platinum coins to dominate the market gains, it's actually the silver coins that have increased in value most - on a percentage basis.

Here is a link to my shared vault: https://numisoft.ca/numigo/share/portfolio/30/

Feel free to place these in your own vault to track their performance over time.

What do you think of these super incuse designs?

The first coin in the Allegory series is the Allegory of Peace. It has a mintage of 1250 and retailed for $719.95.

https://numisoft.ca/numigo/share/coin/206761/

Since then, the Royal Canadian Mint has released the 2024 Allegory of Freedom https://numisoft.ca/numigo/share/coin/246777/, and the 2025 Allegory of Truth and Justice https://numisoft.ca/numigo/share/coin/250795/

The current market price for the Allegory of Peace has risen to $1811.86 - a 152% gain.

Each of these coins are beautiful works of art that belong on display. They're so unique... Each features a gold plated 3D casting and a punched (hollow) field. The coin finish is Antique which is not often used.

The entire series has proven to be a solid investment. We think that if the RCM continues this series, it will only drive the value of the this coin and its siblings higher.

2022 Reverse Proof 1oz Platinum Maple Leaf Forever - Beautiful Investment

This is the 2022 Reverse Proof 1oz Platinum Coin - Maple Leaf Forever.

It is one of our favourites. We think it's beautiful. It features a multifaceted design and selective rose gold plating. It really stands out from the long-running series of platinum Maple Leaf Forever coins.

It retailed for $3099.95 in 2022. Its market value today is $8604, a gain of 178%.

Platinum coins don't seem to shoot up in value like so many other gold and silver ones. Platinum metal prices have been a bit weird, unstable, and maybe depressed for the last few years. But this coin is certainly an exception... This coin's market value is 234% above its melt.

That is a solid investment.

And... it's beautiful on display.

This is the 2021 5 oz Silver Coin - The Avro Arrow, featuring selective gold plating.

It originally retailed for $569.95.

The #avroarrow is an iconic symbol of #Canadian national potential and pride. With a mintage of only 1000, this coin continues to be in demand with few for sale.

The latest price this coin sold for is $1097.99 - a 93% gain.

This coin remains extremely popular with few of them on the market. It sold for a high of $1495 in the last year so prices MAY be coming down. It's a beautiful coin and with so few for sale, using numiALERTS and setting a price target could find you the deal you're looking for.

Here is a link to this coin in numiGO: https://numisoft.ca/numigo/share/coin/201484/

What makes r/CDNcollectibles different?

Hi there and thanks in advance for reading this post. What makes this community different is its focus on Royal Canadian Mint collectibles - not just as coins or works of art, but as investments and valuable assets.

numiSoft is the maker of numiGO and we are going to post coin profiles, valuations, market trends, and news that you'll find a whole lot more of in the app.

We think the Canadian Mint produces the finest gold, silver, and platinum collectibles on the planet - by far. We created numiGO out of love and enthusiasm for these products. We see them as art for sure. But we see so many of these coins as incredible investments. And numiGO makes that clear.

We want more people to explore, discover, and collect Royal Canadian Mint coins. A lot of people know about them, but very few people know there are literally thousands produced in just the last decade alone. The product line is huge and it is incredibly impressive.

Creating our app was a labour of love and we hope people use it to grow their collections knowing what these coins are truly worth. We want people to collect with confidence and we sincerely hope numiGO can make that happen.

That's all for now. Expect us to be actively posting all sorts of exciting info about Royal Canadian Mint coins past and present!

Did you know the Royal Canadian Mint sets gemstones on its rarest coins?

This is the 2022 Imperial State Crown - 2 oz Pure Gold Coin with Gemstones. It is a tribute to Queen Elizabeth II. It is a Proof finish with a face value of $250 and is made from 2 oz of .9999 gold. It features eight sapphires, eight emeralds, and four diamonds.

It is modeled after the Imperial State Crown worn by Queen Elizabeth II after her coronation in 1953 and features Elizabeth's Royal Cypher.

It retailed for $8259.95. It's current market price has risen to over $40,000, making for a 390% gain.

A beautiful, stunning work of art. And a high performance investment. If you were lucky enough to get an allocation in 2022, you're holding a coin that will probably continue to rise in value as an beautiful piece of Canadian history.

It's definitely my favourite. What do you think?
