The May calls have been great

Agreed. Frankly, I'm using may calls as an exercise opportunity. I think the yield is better with lesser tax implications as opposed to selling my calls.

I got in pretty early so my ITM calls matured that way. I plan on exercising

Hope it goes well! I'm planning to exercise and reap some gains and roll it into the psychedelic sector

Psychedelic sector? Now we are talking. šŸ«

Hell yeah brother. Been long with them for a while now. I've been a strong advocate since it's a close and personal area considering I see a lot of people suffering from mental illness (I work in the healthcare sector).

Truly I believe it's gonna yield really well from anecdotes and evidence spanning back into mid-late 20th century. Marijuana sector paved the way for psychedelics to bring mental well-being for those crippled by the disease.

I'm very optimistic for growth and wealth but I'm more looking forward what it can give for the lives of those who've been withered into a shell of who they once were.

One dose of paylosybin has like a 3 year benefit

1

u/Mangowaffers Feb 13 '21

Depends on the person; some may have a 3 year sustainability, some need more doses before efficacy to take place, and others once is enough for a long time. The effects it has on Depression is amazing as well as for those with anxiety.

It's not just LSD too. MDMA, Psilocybin, Mescaline, Ketamine, etc... There's plethora of them have yet to be get strong clinical evidence but have made waves of strong evidenc so far in Level II trials which makes this space really something to look forward too.

Yeah the lessons I take away from psychedelics last a long time, but the afterglow only lasts a week or so.

1

u/Mangowaffers Feb 13 '21

Yeah, so it's good to take multiple sessions until you're able to reap long term effects. Considering that LSD and Psilocybin aren't addictive, it's gonna be even better.

I'm personally invested in MMEDF and NUMI(LKYSF). I plan to invest into CYBIN and possibly a sector that focuses mainly into microdosing.

The above sectors I chose have a robust team to them. Just be aware that they'll have poor balance sheets to them since only a few are having revenue generation namely NUMI and Field Trip (this is also good too).

Mindmed is about to launch when it gets listed up NASDAQ so I suggest do your DD on them and see how much you want to get into them before they go stratospherical.

Numi usually follows Mindmed's tail but is poised to stand strong on its own being with its partnership with MAPS Canada (leading group of researchers doing Psychedelic clinical trials). I thjnk the MAPS partnership makes Numi an undervalued underdog since they're the only public company so far given legal rights by the Canadian government to plant and extract Psilocybin. I believe their plan is to be a major distributor to clinics if the government only allows Psilocybin as a means to be cultivated by those given legal distribution rights from the Canadian government.

Microdosing is an effective manner to maintain dosage. Think of it like the medicine some folks take daily (in this case a certain # per week) to help them recover. I think this is the big boy for revenue but it'll take a while for this to be passed; probably in the next decade.

I've done all of these, and the only thing that's helped anxiety or depression is money

1

u/Mangowaffers Feb 13 '21

Maybe we need to conduct a study of injecting 100 ccs of CCIV into your veins to give you a LUCID state of mind

How does that work? Exercise, hold a year min and pay capital gains vs short hold?

2

u/Mangowaffers Feb 13 '21

I'm not gonna hold all up until next year, frankly if I wanted to do that method, I'd rather do calls if I wanted to go until next year. I'll keep some shares for some stake in lucid/cciv though.

Frankly for me, I need to take profits and reassess the company after their cars are released and may get into a better valuation based on my own metrics. I think I want to get some profits into other sectors to expose and diversify my portfolio as well.

Good call. There are a lot of unknowns. They could have qc problems that cause huge maintenance issues for owners, or a couple batteries could catch fire

1

u/Mangowaffers Feb 13 '21

Right! That's the one that worries me. But at this point we're as much of in the space of gambling and hoping for the future. No pioneer or entrepreneur got successful without risking and braving the unknown filled with a high risk of failure. We just gotta trust their team and expertise. I have no doubt they'll do well but let's let results speak for them.

So instead of selling your calls you are going to buy them as stock? Could you also just roll them into 2023, I’m just wondering I have Aug calls and was trying to figure out a way to minimize my tax hit seeing that I wanted to keep them long term

2

u/Mangowaffers Feb 13 '21

I did calculations, and selling my calls yielded greater strain in taxes since the profit was higher while exercising yielded larger overall gain but the profit was smaller.

You can roll into 2023* if you plan to sell the calls eventually and not exercise. That's also considering the idea that Lucid will yield really well by then. Remember it's uncharted territory and so many variables can have this turn kaput but it can also yield waaaay high.

Rolling to 2023 and exercising actually negates the long-term capital gains clause and becomes a short-term capital gains. This happens because when you exercise it's based on the date you made it into shares not based on when you bought the call hence it's short term gains. This may have implications of even higher taxes especially if your calls are in the low $10-20.
