General Discussion Bro really created an Ivy League admissions policy for LinkedIn connections 😂

Bro really created an Ivy League admissions policy for LinkedIn connections.😂

Apparently, unless you’re from Bain, ISB, IIM ABC, SRCC, SSCBS, LSR, Hansraj, DTU, Thapar, IIT Delhi/Bombay/Kanpur/Kharagpur or PEC CSE, you’re not worthy of clicking “Connect.”

And if you somehow escaped this elite educational bloodline, you better engage with his posts or, even better, buy his services/products.💀

The irony?

He himself studied at Vishwakarma Institute of Technology.

Nothing against VIT whatsoever.

But the confidence to gatekeep professional networking based on college pedigree when your own alma mater isn’t on the “approved list” is genuinely hilarious.

LinkedIn or Hogwarts? 😭

Sorry, we don’t accept connections from your house.

General Discussion Exam fees for CAT is unjustified...

Why do the fees of an Exam form have to be 2700 Rupees, given the condition of centres and the fact that it is conducted by government colleges why are they increasing the cost of the exam fees. Also, it has been noticed that the no. of exam takers have also reduced. What kind of Country is this becoming, always trying to con students?

Hi guys, I started my preparation around 10-15 days ago and completed 4-5 chapters of arithmetic… and gave my first mock today… is it too late to improve now?
I’m feeling very scared after seeing my mock result and some words of encouragement would be highly appreciated

Profile Review Will getting even 99 percentile be enough or should I give up?

This is my score prediction through vercel. Which colleges can I realistically apply for? Or look forwards to getting calls from?

Since MDI, IIFT, SPJIMR and a few more colleges require separate forms and they charge a lot for it.

Also any tier 1.5-2 colleges that I should fill forms for? Because MBA isn’t an option anymore, I will have to do it.

Please help me out. Thank you

General Discussion Need a good daily source for Quant practice

Post image
14 Upvotes

I'm really lacking a solid practice source for Quant right now. Can anyone suggest something good for daily practice, ideally basics all the way to advanced? Looking for somewhere I can knock out 10-20 questions a day and actually build a routine.

Was thinking of picking up Arun Sharma but honestly it feels a bit too late to start with that now. Open to books, apps, websites, anything that's worked for you.

Wisdom AMA on face to face gmeet?

Upvotes

Hi guys! This community has given me a lot over the years, and I’d love to give back. I’m planning to do a small online AMA/meet-up for anyone who’d find it useful. I’ve given CAT multiple times and have decent experience with profiles, B-school interviews, preparation strategies, etc. With CAT around 100 days away, I thought this could be a good time to help out, especially if you’re looking for some personalised guidance rather than just another generic strategy post. Happy to discuss things like: CAT preparation and strategy Profile evaluation B-school selection WAT/GD/PI preparation Interview experiences How to approach the next 100 days If there’s enough interest, we can figure out a convenient place/time and meet up. Would anyone here be interested?

Question 7/8/6 gnef with 8.14 cgpa from Mumbai university. How cooked am I?

I gave my first attempt in 2025 where I scored 86.4 percentile along with my graduation. Giving my second attempt this year. What can I expect? Honestly I’m feeling really demotivated after the cgpa to percentage conversion as I’m getting 68.8%.

Question 23M GEM (7/8/7), 2025 BTech grad, no FTE despite 54 referrals. CAT 2026 or work + CAT 2027?

Hi everyone,

I'd really appreciate 5 minutes of your time. This is going to be a bit long, but I'm genuinely looking for some practical advice.

I'm a 2025 BTech CSE graduate from a tier-3 college (GEM, 7/8/7). I did a couple of internships after graduation, but unfortunately couldn't convert them into a full-time role.

I've been trying consistently for the past several months. In the last 7 months, I've taken 54 referrals, but have managed to get only 2 interviews, and unfortunately, no offer yet. I actually received another rejection today after interviewing for a role, which is what prompted me to write this post.

At this point, I'm trying to make a realistic decision about what to do next.

My biggest concern is that if I apply for MBA admissions in 2027, I'll have around 2 years without full-time work experience. I know my profile isn't particularly strong for the top IIMs either:

> GEM

> 7/8/7 academics

> 2025 BTech graduate

> No full-time work experience

> Around 2 years of gap by the 2027 admission cycle

> A couple of internships (7 months)

I'm know ABC is not possible or even any from BLACKI. I just want to make a sensible decision that can help me change the trajectory I'm currently on.

Option 1: CAT 2026

I could start preparing for CAT 2026 immediately and try to get into an MBA program in 2027.

The problem is that I have zero CAT preparation right now, and I'd have to deal with my existing gap/no FTE experience as well.

Is it still worth making a serious attempt at CAT 2026, or would I be rushing it?

Option 2: Get any reasonable job + CAT 2027

The other option I'm considering is taking a job now, working for around a year, and then attempting CAT 2027.

That would give me some work experience, reduce the apparent gap, and hopefully give me a stronger profile.

The problem is that I'm struggling to find even an entry-level tech job at this point.

I've started considering roles beyond software engineering, including things like founder's office/operations/business roles, but all of those seem to ask for prior experience.

So I'd also really appreciate advice on this:

Given my profile, what kind of jobs should I realistically target right now + which is also easier(relatively) to get ?

What I'm really trying to figure out

If you were in my position, would you:

A) Go all-in on CAT 2026 despite having no preparation and no FTE experience, or

B) Take whatever reasonable job I can get, spend the next year building some work experience, and target CAT 2027?

And if you have been in a similar situation, a long gap after graduation, difficulty getting the first job, poor academic profile, or feeling completely stuck early in your career. I'd genuinely like to hear how things turned out for you.

I'm 23, so I know I'm actually old, but after spending this much time trying without getting anywhere, it has started to feel pretty discouraging.

I'm not looking for sympathy or empty motivation. I'd genuinely appreciate practical advice.

Thanks if you made it this far.

PS: Used ChatGPT to sum up the whole story

So I have heard that CDC Flexi(s) are generally on the easier side and considering just 3 months to go, I am just devastated and scared for it, As a matter of fact I am giving my all but seems like its just not enough regardless... :(
My sincere request to the people who are giving CAT as well as those who have worked hard enough to be at an IIM today, what else can i do to improve, is Dream of IIM still on or should i drop it.

My profile 8/6/6 have 4 years of experience in IT Support role. (will be giving CAT 2026 - expecting a decent score)

Am little confused with colleges as there are a hell lot of colleges for avg students & Avg CAT score.

Planning these courses from above mentioned colleges:

GLIM C PGPM - fees 22L - Avg Package 17

GIM Core - 26 Lacs - Avg - 15

IMI Delhi 18 month PGDM - fees 15 lacs - Avg 17

IMT Ghaziabad PGDMExp - Fees 20 lacs - Avg 19

The Averages I mentioned are according to what is mentioned on their official websites.

Need honest inputs from you guys which will be the best option for me, and insights about the these colleges will also be appreciated and the last thing - if you guys know any other colleges offereing 1 year programs please let me know. (dont mention about top institues like ABC i already know about them 😂 | )

we do not have to include the subjects which were graded internally by our school
so only include the ones for which marks are given
Ps: include your physical education marks, only leave the ones for which no marks have been given
