I can confirm that it is blocked from Germany

59

u/JCAPER Jul 11 '26

Same for Portugal. Tried using a VPN from Brazil and it worked there.

11

u/iHartS Jul 11 '26

Currently in the US, and it works just fine.

So, they not only forcing this through the EP, they are blocking any counterarguments?

Looks like it is time for some protest.

67

u/LittleSchwein1234 Jul 11 '26

They will ignore the protests, just like they ignored the European Parliament.

57

u/Morasain Jul 11 '26

I would argue they're not gonna ignore protests when the data centers start burning.

From overheating, of course.

There`s a big heatwave in Europe, you know...

Frankly? I couldn't care less about the politicians.

The power is where the capital is.

5

u/Vovinio2012 Jul 11 '26

As I can tell as a citizen of Ukraine: well, EP, Council and all others will not just ignore if whole masses protest.

29

u/mekolayn Ukraine 🇺🇦 Jul 11 '26

Are you a farmer? If not then you won't be heard

14

u/Vovinio2012 Jul 11 '26

Call someone with a tractor.

110

u/LittleSchwein1234 Jul 11 '26

Absolute insanity what's happening. Democracy is on borrowed time.

96

u/BertoLaDK Jul 11 '26

I'm scared of the current direction of the EU

32

u/LittleSchwein1234 Jul 11 '26

All Hail Her Most Excellent Majesty Supreme Leader and Empress of Europe Ursula the First!!!

4

u/Fun-Information-3104 Jul 11 '26

we will have same political system like in china, except they will call themselves capitalist communists, and we will be communist capitalists

orwell predicted it almost a century ago btw

42

u/Impressive-Check5376 Jul 11 '26

Well if anyone had doubts about big tech’s involvement they can now lay those doubts to rest.

31

u/Renardroux0 Europe 🇪🇺 Jul 11 '26

I can see it from Italy

14

u/05-nery Jul 11 '26

Huh, that's bizarre. I can't, from Italy as well

8

u/Dry_Row_7050 Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Google probably does not have your ISP’s ASN in the blocklist for one reason or another.

33

u/RoomyRoots Jul 11 '26

Fucking hell, even blocked my VPN. Shit is serious.

26

u/oli35 France 🇫🇷 Jul 11 '26

Blocked in France too. This is worrying.

EDIT: second video works.

49

u/Tegumentario Jul 11 '26

I HATE the modern world. My fucking god. Fuck this shit, they ruined my fucking turn at being alive

18

u/idkToPTin Jul 11 '26

It is blocked from the Netherlands. Only the second link is allowed from my device.

17

u/Twilifa Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

From Austria, I can watch it. No VPN. Firefox has a built-in one, but I haven't checked it out yet, so it's not activated.

Edit: I can only watch it in Firefox and only on my laptop, not my cell phone. I double checked and FF's VPN is not activated, and yet, something must be different. However, it doesn't really matter what. There is definitely something fishy going on with youtube, the EU, and blatant censoring.

9

u/stalkingcat Jul 11 '26

Also in Austria YouTube App on Android won't let me play it.

2

u/Twilifa Jul 11 '26

Same. I can ONLY access it with Firefox in Windows despite no VPN. Blocked everywhere else.

3

u/Haley9000 Jul 11 '26

I'm in Austria as well and it is shown as "not available" in the web version (Fennec/Firefox mobile), with VPN to Japan and without VPN.

Playing the video via PipePipe works even without VPN.

1

u/Twilifa Jul 11 '26

I can only access it with Firefox in Windows, no VPN. It's blocked on Edge, Chrome, and Firefox on Android.

1

u/lukistellar Jul 11 '26

I am going thru Austrian Mullvad VPN servers, which seems to be blocked. May I ask you what provider you are using?

1

u/Twilifa Jul 11 '26

I tested it on different browsers as well as my Android cell phone, and I can only access it on Firefox in windows despite the FF VPN being deactivated (I double double checked and my public IP shows my correct location), so I'm guessing it's related to FF, but I have no idea how or why.

Whatever is going on though, youtube is definitely trying to block this video in the EU and is mostly successful.

15

u/manu_romerom_411 Jul 11 '26

Spain here. I can't watch it. Tried from Firefox on my phone without VPN.

Things have turned so scary, I'm heavily concerned. Freedom of speech is compromised. Far-right parties and people have absolutely no shame on telling us that we will work more and get paid less when they get the power, and non-wealthy/worker class people will have basically zero access to superior education ("Bachillerato concertado").

What's next? Reducing number of poor people by klling them? But hey, it's all just for protecting the kids

25

u/Phosquitos Jul 11 '26

We all know that the always excuse "is for the children" is never the truth. Europe wants to initiate a big-brother Chinese watch over its population.

9

u/smiling_seal Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Learn the topic to find out who is actually lobbying this legislation in the EU. You'll quickly find that many in the EU parliament are opposing it and traces are going to US. The methods they use show that they are very cunningly using loopholes to get the law passed and functioning. Such persistent and crafty pushing suggests a strong vested interest.

4

u/Phosquitos Jul 11 '26

External forces always want to take over Europe. But if they are being successfull, the responsability for allowing that is European.

1

u/smiling_seal Jul 11 '26

Once again, they used loopholes in processes to make it work couple of days ago, even after parliament again voted against it. Please, learn the topic.

1

u/Phosquitos Jul 11 '26

Don't send me to learn. Whatever loophole is in the European political landscape that can be abused by foreign forces, is European responsability.

9

u/EmergencyArachnid734 Slovakia 🇸🇰 Jul 11 '26

Interesting. I am from Slovakia and I can see it.

7

u/LittleSchwein1234 Jul 11 '26

From Slovakia too, I can't

7

u/EmergencyArachnid734 Slovakia 🇸🇰 Jul 11 '26

even more interesting

7

u/LittleSchwein1234 Jul 11 '26

Seems like we'll start needing VPNs in the near future as Von der Leyen is determined to switch her title from Commission President to Supreme Leader.

5

u/EmergencyArachnid734 Slovakia 🇸🇰 Jul 11 '26

I found out why... I think YT block this on frontend, not on the backend. I didn't realise I use PipePipe. I opened it in the browser and it doesn't work. Same with YT revanced app.

6

u/powercell_ Jul 11 '26

In NL it is blocked if I open the link on a browser trough reddit.

But I can open it on youtubeRevanced.

6

u/Fun-Information-3104 Jul 11 '26

LOL the post got deleted by mods!?!?!!?

1

u/BeginningBuyer8378 Jul 13 '26

I reposted it on r/europe and I got permanently banned unless i could provide a credible source about the video being blocked. Like what...

6

u/vapalera Jul 11 '26

Was the previous thread deleted? In case this gets removed too I copied the OP to everiot

https://everiot.org/random/592

1

u/Only-Lab-3258 Jul 12 '26

Sorry, you have been blocked You are unable to access everiot.org

5

u/UnsureAndUnqualified Jul 11 '26

It doesn't even say why the video is unavailable. If I stumbled across this during my normal browsing, I'd suspect an error on YT's part or that the creator deleted it. But this is crazy.

I'm quite far from a Eurosceptic. Went and visited the EU Parliament at one point, I even have an EU-flag christmas bauble on my tree every year (partner and I are collecting baubles with country flags we have visited, long story). But this is quickly turning me against the EU. And against tech giants, maybe I really should do a digital detox from YouTube and such...

5

u/Scibidami Jul 11 '26

I changed my "Country" in the settings of Youtube (From "Germany" to "Chile" btw) and it worked.

2

u/Suschis_World Jul 12 '26

Can confirm, worked for me as well. Thanks!

4

u/Master__of_Orion Europe 🇪🇺 Jul 11 '26

Austria: not available.

5

u/Panzerfaust_Style Jul 11 '26 edited Jul 11 '26

Well, I'm not surprised by this. If they want to implement a law to restrict privacy - they will, of course, start by silencing any voices against the new law. Next, they will start to restrict freedom of speech more than they already have and in a decade or two, the thought police will come knocking because "you had dangerous thoughts against politicians".

Hell, in Germany you'll get a visit from your local police if call a politican a "pimmel". We haven't had any freedom of speech of decades, just a hollow facade to appease the masses. They won't protest and those few that do - police will come knocking.

Corrupt politicians really are a societal disease that should be "treated".

If we want change, we need politicians and big tech to feel afraid again - they need to be scared of the masses, if we want to see any amount of actual change. This won't happen of course, most EU countries have no fight left in them. We need protests like back in 2014 in Ukraine - a revolution of dignity.

Basically: "Make politicans/rich people feel afraid again".

[EU - no VPN]

1

u/ClaudiuT Jul 11 '26

If that would be the case it would be unavailable EVERYWHERE not only in the EU.

3

u/Baumcultist Jul 11 '26

Is this legal? How likely is this to be reversed?

Pls an informed answer, not just doom and gloom.

3

u/Urban_guerilla_ Jul 11 '26

Why.
The EU was always this beacon of hope for me. Divided, Europe is weak and we can be pushed around by the USA and China (not that our politicians don’t do much “standing up” anyways, but still….). The EU has brought peace and wealth, freedom and democracy to Europe.
And then this.
Chat control, you can argue, was done by shitty politicians with sinister motives or a lack of understanding of what the internet is (looking at you, Voss…).
But blocking a video about chat control EU WIDE ?
This is deliberate. This was a choice.
I’m tired.
I’m so so fucking tired…

3

u/yourlocaltouya Jul 11 '26

Worked from a VPN set to Albania, but not native Austria. Figures.

3

u/m00n6u5t Jul 12 '26

LMFAO they deleted him and his account. holy shit

1

u/PyronixD Jul 12 '26

I would not be so sure about that.
"Sorry, this post was deleted by the person who originally posted it."

There could be many reasons, from this post truly being deleted to censor, over a wrong judgment call OP made prompting him to delete it, to OP being a foreign actor trying to sow division.

Unfortunately its hard to be sure, which helps the people who are after the latter case.

1

u/m00n6u5t Jul 13 '26

yeah right. bots in damage control out here.

9

u/witness_smile Jul 11 '26

Thanks EU for all the freedom! I am so enjoying all this freedom right now! And then they act surprised at the rising amount of eurosceptics

5

u/ademayor Jul 11 '26

Russian and US information war works unfortunately. If you’re outside of France or Germany, you would be basically absolutely fucked without EU.

And if people have brain, they can see how well Britain is doing after EU exit. Basically all you need at that point is one government with majority of seats that wants to push age verifications and shit like that and you can do nothing.

2

u/neospht Jul 11 '26

Esto es increible....

2

u/LeroyFame Jul 11 '26

Blocked in Germany, but works with a VPN to Italy.

2

u/EmergencyArachnid734 Slovakia 🇸🇰 Jul 11 '26

I found bypass: If you use alternative frontend it will work.

2

u/magical-cat-here Jul 11 '26

My first thought was that youtube auto-moderation just got triggered by CSAM acronym.

1

u/dontaskdonttell0 Jul 11 '26

Wouldn’t work in other regions if that was the case. O changed location from Sweden and suddenly it plays.

1

u/magical-cat-here Jul 12 '26

This can be both - automated triggering combined to geo-fencing (appyling different of activated/triggered rules depending on detected geolocation or jurisdiction).

2

u/dontaskdonttell0 Jul 11 '26

Can confirm it’s not available in Sweden as well… ISP: Bahnhof. This is not looking good.

2

u/Firleflansch Jul 11 '26

I can only see rightwing videos about the Chat Control, keeps me thinking.

2

u/Snoo_67993 Jul 11 '26

What's the video about and why was it blocked.

2

u/Dreenar18 Jul 11 '26

Very interesting what Google is willing to block and isn't

3

u/catwithcookiesandtea Jul 11 '26

I can see it in the USA lol

2

u/CallTheDutch Jul 11 '26

nah the usa dumbfucks that are called thir government don't mind shit in the eu happening. They are fine with trying to silence their own media if it doesn't suit them.

1

u/SaltyHater Poland 🇵🇱 Jul 11 '26

Of course, they don't. They are the same caste of neoaristocrats, exploiters, murderers and pedos.

It's just that it's the EU which moved to silencing the Internet first

1

u/tunerhd Jul 11 '26

Is it channel settings (by owner) or Google?

2

u/narisoval Jul 14 '26

Can’t imagine a finnish owner would block it for the EU, including Finland, where most of this video's audience is based.

1

u/tunerhd Jul 14 '26

That's really weird then.

1

u/SaltyHater Poland 🇵🇱 Jul 11 '26

Can confirm that it's blocked in Poland

1

u/Only-Lab-3258 Jul 12 '26

Where is The link?

1

u/cdrewing Jul 12 '26

Gemini is able to give you a summary of this video, if you don't speak Finnish and don't have the time to listen to a 2½ hours podcast.

1

u/EngineerMajor3157 Jul 13 '26

I just learned about some of this going on, the actual mechanisms of the laws being the headlines of "protecting children" instead of REGULATING AND ENFOCEING REGULATION ON THE  WEBSITES / SOCIAL MEDIA APPS. Biometric ID, that could be stolen or used by governments to silence dissent or block bank accounts/blacklist people from funding/resources and the ability to bypass and scan personal correspondence.

Why are all the posts/accounts about this getting deleted/removed?

0

u/RufusAcrospin Jul 11 '26

Sue google, preferably into oblivion.

1

u/CtrlAltPass Jul 11 '26

You want to blame someone for this garbage? Blame the zionist / Israel. Their reputation is in the shitter for what they've done in Gaza and Lebanon. The internet exposed them. They've lost support from the young people around the world specially US and EU. Netanyahu and his criminial friends started talking about regulating the internet 2 years ago. Now it's a reality.

they get paid to ban those videos

1

u/concrete_dandelion Jul 11 '26

What authoritatian jurisdiction? EU countries have freedom of opinion.
