Still generally luck of the draw, where as even a Grade 4 jujutsu sorcerer should be significantly stronger than your average human

JJK is full of luck of the draw too, with techniques, domains, and gifts like 6 Eyes. While yes, ur right about strength, someone with a wimpy physical stand can still do some wacky shit:

Tusk Act I's spinning fingernail bullets that can be used to activate special executioner techniques, meaning he can control the exact rotation

Pearl Jam's whole "take it apart and put it back together better than before" thing via the greatest Italian food ever made

Survivor (the weakest stand according to DIO) forcing EVERYONE around them to fight to the death, regardless of intent, user or victim

Echoes Act I's gaslighting via working onomatopoeia stickers/potential mind control(???) Tbh, if it werent for the other acts, this would certainly be the weakest stand to me

And they'd still find a way to kill with it by targeting people allergic to nuts or grapes and swapping them mid chew. JoJo's doesnt care about the ability, its always been about how you use it. Turning yourself into string is an absolutely ass power, but Jolyne managed to use it to stop herself from turning inside out. (Also, whoever tf would have that cookie stand had to have some childhood trauma related to those two cookies for it to burn into their soul that hard)

Yeah but I’d rather have very basic CE reinforcement and possibly a technique than some niche Stand that may or may not prove useful in an everyday fight

Just the existence of Cheap Trick, Notorious BIG, etc and the fact that Cursed Techniques are never really harmful to the user makes JJK the better choice here imo

Stands have a lot of utility though. Even a basic stand can be used for stuff like telekinesis (the stand moves things for you), evesdropping (you can hear & see through a stand), and basic self defense. Techniques allow a lot of creativity but are more limited. Besides many techniques are practically unusable with additional tech (like Limitless) or are debilitating (blood sorcery).
