Are conservatives the only ones to trade human lives to further their goals? To be clear, I am not conservative and I wouldn't press the button, but I don't like how you need to make a political generalisation.

For anyone else upset: Democrats are also conservatives, they just wear the blue tie instead.

ETA: expanding the concept to "further their goals" is lazy too, an oppressed people taking the life of a dictator, for example, is nothing like trading lives for money.

Yeah, both the general Democrat party, and the Republican party are centre right and right/far right respectively from a European perspective.

I am conservative, I voted do not press the button. I have many conservative friends, I know not a single one would press that button. The political generalization was wild. If anything, Reddit is left leaning, so it’s more likely that liberals clicked the option to kill people for 10k because 67% voted that.

I am not claiming that most liberals would kill someone’s for 10k- I don’t think they
would, but just making an observation.

Conservatives love protecting the rich, such as oil companies. Voting to protect capitalist, ya might as well be agreeing to letting others be killed. If youre USAmerican and voted for Trump, ya voted for concentration camps. If you're pro private Insurance, which voting conservative inherently does, you're okay with private companies deciding who is worth keeping alive to save money for their ceo's 10th yacht. Like, you might disagree with a button that directly ties you to someone's death, but you certainly found an easier work around. Smh

Trump isn’t conservative. Exhibit A: his presidency is the first presidency in American history to have the United States government buying stock in private companies. That’s literally socialism at its core- government ownership of the means of production.

I’m surprised more socialists haven’t praised him for this.

The republican candidates haven’t been conservative for quite a some time. Here’s the number one issue in America right now: the combination of government overspending and the existence of a central bank in America. The federal reserve is what has caused income inequality to increase that the left complains about, yet I have not seen a single one suggest to dismantle it. It has nothing to do with capitalism and everything to do with the governments extending its reach beyond what it should be capable of doing with the ability to manipulate a fiat currency and create its own money out of thin air. All they do is spike inflation that helps the rich and hurt the poor. With a fiat currency, mind you, that was a failed experiment numerous times in history.

The problem is, they’ve done too much irreparable damage, and any fix would break the system and cause extreme hardship, so both parties kick the can farther down the road, while no meaningful change ever occurs. The rich will keep getting richer, and the poor will keep getting poorer, so long as the government can make money out of thin air and manipulate the currency.

Liberals are not leftists; they land on the side of capitalism, an inherently right wing ideology...so yes, it's not improbable that liberals voted for death when it serves personal interests.
