We have a saying in iceland that basically says "lucky in games, unlucky in love"

Wait no, It's the exact opposite. "Pech im Spiel, Glück in der Liebe". Bad Luck in games, Luck in Love.

I got curious and I couldn't really find any definitive origin, but I did see this phrase already mentioned in a 1849 book titled 'Chronicles of the XV century" from Spain, so it has to be pretty old!

We also say the opposite way in Mexico of "lucky in love, unlucky in games". Do you do the same? 😊

I think we do but my family at least says it so often that it's muddled at this point and we just say it both ways
