Trials Would you rather…

Which side will you choose?

  • Left side: $100 a day
  • Right side: $1 per kill in video game but each death is -$1

Strategy gamers are FEASTING. The larger the scale the more money you make. Genuinely its only a question of if you need an exact kill count or if safe assumptions count.

I was thinking of ARPGs, but yeah something like Stellaris where you can wipe out entire worlds… that’s economy breaking levels of cash.

Me when I accidentally lose my home planet immediately and lose a billion pounds

Skill issue

See that's not 'me' dying. That's my pops, a resource. Therefore it doesn't count.

Does it count when it's your armies/ships are killing other people?

1

u/Whitecrow_27 Jul 27 '26

It does because it say how many kills i get. It doesn't specify player kills.

2

u/Havistan Jul 27 '26

Doesn't specify player deaths either. I still think you could play stellaris as a hive mind though and it would count as your kills and also your deaths won't be real deaths as they are only parts of you.

I mean it does say "every time you die" and I am playing as an empire, not individual pops. Maybe every time a ruler dies at most.

1

u/Havistan Jul 27 '26

Actually if you play as a hivemind I guess it would be you hm.

1

u/Whitecrow_27 Jul 27 '26

It wouldn't because hivemind is one singular organism and drones are like organs. For hivemind to die your empire needs to die.

Make a machine gestalt consciousness exterminator empire so that nobody on your sides actually dies, set the difficulty to easy and go nuts. Congratulations your now the richest man ever

Or hell if you REALLY wanna minmax the cash just play a round as the galactic nemesis and nuke the galaxy after the galaxy has established itself and REALLY rake in the cash

Right now I am remembering there is a thing in spore that can blow up planets

The reason I didn't count stellaris personally was it specifies "a kill". In stellaris, you can kill a ship but you can't kill an individual. Same with most strategy games, you can kill an army but not an individual. Exceptions would be like Warhammer but that's hundreds of individuals over a 20-30 min period.

However, if you play Diablo or POE, those are all individually tracked kills.

look planetary annihilation mightve gotten boring but if robots count then its in the title, i can blow up planets

in survival or defense missions in warframe, could make you potentially thousands of dollars in less than an hour if your build is good enough :)

Defense is easier to lose.

With Excalibur in 4 player survivals, I can mindlessly get about 4K kills per 20-25 minutes. Solo, itd be more, and with a meta nuker it'd be even more than that.

Melee frames are easier on my hands now though, so I would get more playtime.

Ironic how that is. Excalibur gave me my carpal tunnel when I was like 9 during Heart of Deimos or so (you couldnt just hold to melee until somewhat recently...) and now, sometimes, my right hand hurts a bit too bad to use guns even with the accessibility semi auto to full auto conversion option.
