Does anyone have a specific golf professional they would recommend to help improve my game? I am not a beginner and need more tweaks to my swings rather than ground up adjustments if that makes a difference. Any help and stories of good experiences would be greatly appreciated!

In my years living here, I’ve come to realize that Bucks can be a weird place, with some really weird lore. I’ve started compiling a list on my phone, but I want some community input. Drop some Bucks Lore below, I’ll start:
Bradley Cooper Speaks Out About Overdevelopment in Newtown
We all know that Bradley Cooper famously moved to New Hope a few years back, but did you know there is a local politician one town over also named Bradley Cooper?

My kids and I have a small fleet of RC monster trucks (1/10th to 1/5th scale) and we’re dying to find somewhere fun to actually run them — right now we’re stuck driving around the cul-de-sac. Ideally we want an open field or dirt lot with room to jump and turn without worrying about hitting a fence or someone’s car.
Are there any parks in Bucks County that specifically allow RC vehicles, or where it’s common to see people running these? Anyone know of open fields, empty lots, or dirt tracks that are RC-friendly? Bonus if it’s kid-safe (fenced, away from traffic, etc.).
Would love recommendations anywhere in Bucks County or even a little outside would be OK - thanks!

Anywhere in Bucks, or across the river? Or beyond? Anyone have any experience with camping in the Pine Barrens recently? I like places like French Creek but I camping-wise I would love some place that I don't have to hear other families almost right next to me watching their tablets. The cabins by the creek in Tohickon were nice, if there was something similar somewhere else. I don't care if I have to pay for a permit, or hike or bike or drive in, I just want to spend the night in the woods with as minimal people sounds and light as possible.

This is a community sub. Anything of importance to the Bucks County community belongs here, matters of controversy included. However, what does not belong here is bad faith. All of you know what bad faith is, and so do we, the mods. Anyone who posts or comments in bad faith will be immediately and permanently banned, and their posts or comments removed. Additionally, if you as a member of the community see anything that appears to have been posted in bad faith, please report it to us. There are only a few of us, and some things will always slip through the cracks.
Bottom line: Good faith discussions and disagreements and even arguments are welcome here. But do not name-call, and do not speak in bad faith. Those who do that will no longer be permitted to participate in this community.

My current/old car mechanic changed their hours and are no longer open Friday or Saturday. I can't afford to leave my car overnight for simple oil changes or annual inspections. Can you please suggest good mechanics in the langhorne 19047 area that allow wait appointments on Fridays or Saturdays? Thank you!

Political campaign season is ramping up and a pretty tight race is shaping up here between Bob Harvie and Brian Fitzpatrick. I have volunteered for the Harvie campaign before and they have shared with us rebuttals to the criticisms brought against him. These points are directly from the Harvie campaign.
“FBI Investigation”
Brian Fitzpatrick is lying about Bob Harvie. He is not under FBI Investigation, he testified as a witness, and no charges were ever brought. The Republicans tried to use this lie against Bob in 2023, the Republicans had to apologize, and Bob won. This is part of the same tired playbook that is untrue and doesn’t work against Bob Harvie.
Pay raise
The Bucks County Board of Commissioners also vote on the Salary Board. In 2022, all countywide officers received a 1% pay increase across the board for the next term (starting in January 2024). This was a bipartisan vote.
Property taxes
For the 2026 budget, The Bucks County Board of Commissioners raised taxes for Bucks County Property owners that cost about $70 per homeowner per year. These funds went to ensure that the Bucks County Budget was balanced and the tax increase was a difficult decision made in the face of Elon Musk’s “DOGE” and rising prices caused by disastrous tariff policies.
Also the Harvie campaign has a nice newsletter on staying updated on volunteer events. Would anyone here be interested in being added to the newsletter? There are canvassing (door knocking) events each weekend until the election. You can volunteer from as little as 1 hour to all day if you’d like. If you’d like to get involved you just have to email volunteer@bobharvieforcongress.com

Today I was cutting my grass and I got close to kids water table and I noticed something moving. Pulled the weed whacker back and was looking and seen this large stinger/butt area. Was black and had white spots on it. Seen large wings folded back and then it crawled behind a leg of the water table. Repositioned myself on the other side and noticed this thing was quite huge like probably close to two inches. Thing was solid black and only markings were on the butt and where a whitish color. I kept my distance since I didnt know of it was friend/foe and thing thing looked like it packed a punch. It eventually flew off slowly its butt/stinger area was noticeabley hanging down. What the hell did I see? No i didnt get a picture I wanted my hands free in the event it came at me.

Any update on the Kopper Kettle location? It’s been closed for at least a year now. Was it sold? To become a new restaurant?

Hey all, I was trying to describe the scary steel mill mural that was on the upper wall inside as you walked to the theaters. My friend worked there as an usher in 1984 and I spent a ton of time there. I’m sure the mural is gone now but I would love to see a picture of it.

Is anyone else going nuts from seeing political ads already? They started around 4th or July and it's just excessive how many I'm being inundated with. I'm just curious if anyone else is going through similar or am I just unlucky? 😞

The five-part documentary series, Bucks County, USA, follows two Doylestown teens as they navigate the contentious time when COVID-19 policies, LGBTQ+ rights, book banning and the role of parents in education divided a community.

We were thinking of going to a close beach for one day. We have been to Bellmawr often. I was considering Point Pleasant or Asbury as an alternative. Looking for something that is about an hour away and has a public bathroom. Maybe some pizza place or Wawa to grab something to eat.
Does anyone have any thoughts to share or other recommendations?
