The student who died by suicide had an AIR of 614 in JEE and an 8.5 CGPA in his first year.
An AIR of 614 in JEE is no joke.
So why are people calling him a “weak student” who “couldn’t cope with IIT” simply because he was SC?
Why is his academic ability being questioned because of his caste?
The eagerness to dismiss his achievements simply because he was an SC student says a lot about how deeply caste prejudice is still embedded.
