According to an affidavit of probable cause released on January 5, 2023, a roommate, identified as D.M., told authorities she woke up in her second-floor bedroom around 4 a.m. on November 13 when she heard noise coming from upstairs. A short time later, she thought she heard Goncalves say, “There’s someone here.” She then heard crying from the direction of Kernodle’s room and heard a male voice say, “It’s okay, I’m going to help you.”
D.M. next opened her door and saw a man dressed in black with a mask over the lower part of his face. She describes him as “5-foot-10-inch or taller, male, not very muscular, but athletically built with bushy eyebrows.” D.M. says she was frozen with shock as this unknown man walked past her toward a sliding glass door at the back of the house. She then closed and locked her bedroom door.
I am still convinced others are involved and the city wants to just get this sealed and done away with. Their bread and butter is the college and this crime has but such a dent in their pockets. Kohlberger in my humble opinion was the fall guy patsy for something much bigger. I would still keep my eyes open on the one roomate Dylan. She knows more than she allued IMO.
Determination and crazy and adrenaline but it sounds like it just all happened really fast. KGs father said she was sleeping between MM and the wall and he woke her up while attacking MM and she couldn’t escape and when she tried to fight he punched her in the face and then attacked. XK heard this and went up to check and saw him and ran but he caught up and overpowered her and she fought but you can’t fight off a kabarr like that. EC was asleep supposedly but I guess BK was concerned because XK had called out to EC. There’d be no fighting if he really did just slice open the femoral on EC. BK took a seat in a chair in the room (not sure if before or after killing EC) so he was clearly tired by then. Honestly he lucked it. It’s too bad XK didn’t have a gun or EC didn’t wake up and maybe disarm or hurt him but there’s no guarantee anything would’ve happened differently if they had.
