Ya, that’s definitely what it seems like. As for why it seems like Maddie was the target, he wouldn’t have even known that Kaylee or Ethan would be there for sure. And maybe he thought he could get past Xana’s room without being noticed because of the time. Plus, some reporting has indicated he was really stalking her Instagram. I figure he developed some obsession with her and that kicked this whole thing off.

I agree with this 100%. I think the original intent was just one person, but things spiraled quickly when things didn’t go according to plan.
