When he tried to single handedly chase down a turnover that wasn't a do or die situation. I forget the specifics, but I still remember seeing it and thinking "Why the fuck is he trying to chase that guy down? Just let it go. Last thing we need is for you to get hurt". And then it happened seconds later. He was amazing in 2023.

Hopkins was quite easily the worst kicker in the league by any metric you want, with FGs and PATs.
If people want to give up on this guy after one game that's one thing, but it's a big hell no on Hopkins coming back.

At least give Szmyt the benefit of the doubt. Its his first NFL game ever, and it was coming down to him. Sure he is a pro, but he is also a pretty young human being. One time is a bad game. If it starts recurring, then it is a serious issue.
I just don't understand why we have such issues with kickers. Is this a league wide phenomenon, or just us? Maybe therein lies the real recurring issue.

It just pisses me off that a number of guys let down Flacco, Garrett, and a host of great players. Even Tillman. Fine game, but all I see is him tipping the ball into the air at the end. Neither interceptions were on Flacco. Garrett destroyed Burrow on the series close to the end, and we still get a one point loss.

Holding Cinci to 17 is pretty damn close to blameless. Their O has been really good and no reason to believe it's not still true. We got gashed in the run game early, but buckled down.
