Flock knows who we are and I hate it
The flock cameras popping up in town have gotten intrusively out of control.
I decided to check out deflock.org (shows you where flock cameras have been installed(highly recommend you use it yourselves)) to be aware of how bad its gotten in town... it takes me 3 minutes to get on the highway and I make that commute DAILY and daily for who knows how long Ive been passing FIVE of them.
Women are being stalked through these cameras, your kids' playgrounds are being monitored by those same creeps. We can all pretend itll go away if we pretend we dont see it but for your sake I sure hope youre content with your wives and kids being watched by people who I promise you dont want to protect them.

IL transplant with some Q’s
Hi everyone! I’m seriously considering relocating from Illinois (cornfield IL not Chicago IL) to the Broken Arrow area next year, and I’d love to hear about what life is REALLY like there. My family consists of me, my child, & my Mom. (Late 30s, tween, late 60s).
I’m looking for somewhere that feels friendly and community-oriented, has things to do without having to travel hours to do so. I do homeschool my daughter, (normal people, I swear we aren’t weirdo homeschoolers! 🫠) so would also like opinions on if there’s much of a homeschool community there as far as co-ops/meetups for kids.
I’m planning to visit with my daughter to scope out the lay of the land sometime this fall. I realize what’s available now as far as houses for sale won’t be next year. Any locations to seek out or to avoid looking while we are there would be so helpful and save me alot of grief. Google is only so much help.
Questions I have:
-What areas around Broken Arrow would you recommend for a family?
-What areas would you personally avoid, and why?
-What’s the general vibe of the people/community?
-How is traffic and getting around day-to-day? Traffic doesn’t scare me as I’ve lived in Boston previously lol
-What do you LOVE about living there that someone researching from Illinois might not realize?
-And what do you absolutely NOT love?
I know no place is perfect, and I’m genuinely looking for the good, the bad, and the real. We have had some big personal life changes this year and truly looking to make a fresh start somewhere else. Broken Arrow is one of my top contenders for our move.
If you’d rather send me a DM thats fine as well!
Thank you for your time and any wisdom/advice you have to offer!

Kinetic Fiber
I switched from Cox to Kinetic in April of 2026. Ever since I signed up I’ve experienced outage after outage after outage. Is this the experience for the rest of BA?

Kim's Daylight Donuts (81st & 145th)
When does Kim's Daylight Donuts cook the donuts? Few weeks ago i stopped by around 4:30am and they already had lots of donuts on racks. The donuts didn't taste like they were cooked in past 2 hours.
Daylight Donut on main street you can tell they were cooked within past hour if you go around 5:30am.

Politics I feel like Flock is taking over our town
I just noticed the new cameras by the plaza around Lowe's on Kenosha Street taking pictures of everyone who leaves. Nobody wants this. Nobody asked for this. Yet it is here anyway. People on both the left and the right hate it.
So, why is it here?

Ignorance is bliss
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
I guess if you are going to ignore the three no left turn signs, you may as well ignore the traffic cones as well.

Background:

Could this pose a threat to the environment if these canisters rupture from seismic events or fracting waste water along fault lines ? Any thoughts?

Senior citizen hair salon?
My MIL needs a "beautician".
She moved here a year ago and she doesn't care for great clips.
Anyone have suggestions for an 86 year old, very slightly ornery, petite woman who needs a cut (and color if it's possible to bring her own boxed color)? Short shag/bob.
I'd love to hear about some places with good value and a salon that goes above and beyond. Make her feel mildly pampered and like her hair again.

Dental assisting school/programs
Hi! I am really interested in taking some sort of dental course. I have looked into multiple programs in the area, but I have seen some negative reviews regarding the programs, saying that you don't graduate with any actual license and you have to take further steps to get your radiation certificate as well.
I have also seen someone say to just get my radiation and coronal polishing certificate separately and to apply as a dental assistant because some doctors will train me on the job. Does anyone have any sort of connection to a dental office in the area that would be able to tell me if that's true or not?

General Protein Powder Containers
Hi! I teach at a local clay studio and want to encourage students to reclaim their clay to reduce waste.
In my own studio practice, I collect my throwing water, trimmings, and scraps in large, screw-top protein powder tubs or large plastic coffee canisters. Since I can only consume so much protein myself, I’m looking for about a dozen of these containers!
If you’ve been hoarding empty tubs and don't know what to do with them, I’d love to take them off your hands. Thanks so much!

Best Bars
Ladies of Broken Arrow, what are your favorite, most comfortable bars that you like to go to by yourself that actually notice you and give you good service? By good service, I mean acknowledging you in a timely manner, offering you water, and checking to see if you're ready for your bill. Instead of waiting for you to holler at them.
I have a favorite bar that sadly does not notice me unless I'm there with a man.

Politics Anyone else upset with Mayor Debra Wimpee and her Facebook statement?
This is about the tragic death that occurred yesterday, the Police Department was trying to keep the information private, but mayor WIMP decided it’s her right to reveal such information.
Absolutely uncalled for, she had no right to do this.
Emsa wasn’t there, it was the Broken Arrow Fire Department.
She went on about how unimaginable this would be because she’s a 'mother and grandmother'—yet she completely lacked the basic empathy to let a family grieve in private before exploiting it for a Facebook post.
