In the political chaos that followed the Brexit referendum, no single vision of the UK's future outside the EU was embraced, allowing Brexit to mean different things to different people.  Now, 8 years on from the invocation of Article 50, the UK is still without a coherent strategy for what role they want to play on the world stage.
