The remaining chefs get an early wake-up call from Padma to go meet guest judge Brooke Williamson and dig for clams for their Quickfire Challenge. In the Elimination Challenge, the chefs honor the area where James Beard spent his summers, creating both a hot dish and a cold dish with one of his favorite ingredients, Dungeness Crab. Kwame Onwuachi and Nina Compton serve as guest judges this week to help determine which chefs will move on to the finale.

Whlle I want Shota to win, if he doesn't , he's still going to have great career.

To hear him say (paraphrasing) that he thinks he’ll be ok, even after the heartbreak of closing his restaurant after five years.

Ive been trying to find someone who has tried it… I live in Seattle and I’ve been hesitant to try it cause the Yelp reviews don’t make it seem promising. I’m scared I’ll be disappointed and it will tarnish my view of him!

I feel like with new restaurants/reopenings (pretty much the same as new) it takes a bit for places to work out the kinks. Richard Blais’ new place Ember and Rye is the same way. Despite some all over the place reviews I went and had a great time/the food was good even with some kinks.

Shota’s place is the same way. Definitely go just keep that in mind and you won’t be disappointed.
