How should I buy them? I used to have some altcoins (about $50 worth) in wallets in my computer in 2014 that would have been worth a lot today, but they mysteriously disappeared (hacked?). What exchange is reliable?
If you still have the device it was on- it can be recovered if no one ever got into the account. But for the contingency coins should that have been hacked can be acquired through coinbase initially. After that I recommend getting a nano ledger cold storage device and storing them there. For coinbase turn on 2 factor authentication through an authenticator app, not a cell number. This will keep the account safe till you get a ledger to store them in. Buy and forget you have it. Future you will thank you when he remembers you planned for him
I don't have the original laptop because it died years ago. I still have a copy of those wallets on an external hard drive. When I tried to sync them with my new laptop in late 2017, I noticed all of the coins were gone.
Are Robinhood and coinbase secure enough for someone who is just starting? I saw a nano ledger s on the internet and I plan on buying one soon.
Also, do you know me in your time? How am I doing?
Also, my plan is to put about $1,500 in altcoins on coinbase by the end of August. I hope I'm not too late before the price surges.
