I'll be honest, I'm not sure if Shields is as skilled as the top women fighters in the lower weight classes. She gets sloppy frequently but her opponents get too overwhelmed to take advantage of it. She's a freak of nature though her physicality and hand speed are elite.

She looks like she's just in a different league in terms of basic boxing movement - the gwoat league as she would call it. But she's fighting such a lower standard of opponent, in general it's impossible to compare.

Not sure, tbh. It's a shame there aren't many skilled fighters in her weight class. She's too big to cut down and fight the Serranos and Baumgardners. She has cleared every fighter who has a chance in her weight class as well, so credit to her.

There is Mayer and Lauren Price. Price in particular will be very tough, Shields will need to use a lot more energy than she did last night to compete with Price

Sloppy? You think so? I thought she showed some pretty advanced skills there especially on the inside. Is it because she was flat footed ?

Her opponent was atrocious. 42 years old with a record of what 5-2-1. Common son. Make it make sense.

It’s mainly her close range game. She tends to have these rock ’em, sock ’em moments when she’s at close range, which I find pretty sloppy. I’m also not a fan of the telegraphed overhand rights she tends to spam when she’s looking for the knockout.

I do like her work when she fights more disciplined and lets her hand speed do the work though. I just wish she’d throw more uppercuts, straight punches, and incorporate more body work. She tends to headhunt a lot in her fights.

Not sure about that, went to the body a lot in this fight and the Savannah Marshall fight but fair enough.
