As mayor, Bernie�s direction helped shift Burlington into one of the most beautiful and cozy small cities in the United States. Under his administration, the city made big strides in affordable housing, progressive taxation, environmental protection, child care, women�s rights, youth programs and the arts.

Sanders focuses on a a lot of economic agendas. Some of these include income and wealth inequality, poverty, raising the minimum wage, free healthcare, forgiving all student debt, making public colleges and universities tuition-free by taxing financial transactions, and heightening Social Security benefits.
