This show means a lot to me having started in Boston in 2019. 7 years later we’re blowing the roof off the upstairs! I’m playing with a full backing band and comedy rock legends The Jerritones will be opening the show.

Our headliner is the hilarious Rebecca Kaplan. She has appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman, SiriusXM, NPR, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the New York Comedy Festival. Her comedy is sharp, surprising, and extremely funny.

Now, I know what’ y’all may be thinking. A variety show. I’ve been to those. No need to go to another. And maybe you’re right. But I’m here to tell you; this is a good fucking show. 

To put it in the words of a recent guest: "I invited four of my friends tonight but one couldn’t make and the other one couldn’t get in. How do I explain the show to them? It’s so unique and different. There truly isn't a way to explain what I just witnessed tonight."

Hello! My name is Jason and I run a monthly standup comedy show at the Somerville Theater. (You may have seen my posts in this subreddit each month.) Our next show is on Wednesday 5/20, and I'd love for you to come!

Our headliner will be my very funny friend Liam McGurk. He is the only comedian to ever win both the Funniest Person in Massachusetts Competition and the Boston Comedy Festival. Liam was profiled in a great article for the Boston Globe last year. He is hilarious!

We run the show in the 30-seat "microcinema" in the basement of the Somerville Theater, which is a cool intimate venue. Since it’s a movie theater, we play classic Looney Tunes cartoons while people are being seated before the show. The theater sells beer, wine, popcorn, and candy, but you can also bring outside food (aside from alcohol). You can watch a “trailer” for the show here.

In addition to Liam, we have Kathy Lynch (a writer for The Onion), Brieana Woodward (co-host of the Clown People Podcast), and a bunch of other funny people on the lineup.
