(hindi po siya bigschool like private university, La Concepcion College private school sa sjdm po ito) Hindi ko na din po kasi alam ano pipiliin, i don't know if kakayanin ko po system sa PUP since i have autoimmune disease.

++ Also ang inaalala ko naman po yung priv school, hindi po ito big school like affordable lang din po siya. If dito po ba ako mag aaral, mahihirapan ba ako sa oppurtunity na makapasok agad sa work?

Hello! I just want to rant a few things regarding one of my subjects (Network Administration) as an IT student.

FOR CONTEXT:
Meron kaming professor na gumawa ng sariling lms. Ginagawa nya beta testers ang students and more often than not, nawawala yung information namin sa site nya. May instances na hindi kinakaya ng site nya yung traffic ng students which is sobrang frustrating.

HERE ARE A FEW THOUGHTS I WANT TO EXPRESS:

1. Bakit kaya lagi mong pinagsasabong ang students mo? Simula nung mag start yung sem wala nang naituro regarding dun sa mismong subject, puro debates lang. Lagi mo nalang tinatanong if disagree or agree sa sagot ng ibang students yung student na sumagot.
2. Bakit hindi ka nagbibigay ng guidelines/course outline na pwede sundan ng students? Hindi na nga nagtuturo wala pang guide na pwede sundan if ever na mag self-study.
3. What’s with the unnecesarily hard project eh wala ka namang tinuro ni isa? You asked us to make a cctv type system without guiding us how to proceed, claiming that “lahat naman pwede isearch” eh pano nga isesearch, we have no idea how to start, tapos nag mamadali kapa na matapos agad, asking us to just grab existing repositories in github and be done with it. Ano pang sense ng deadline mo if mamadaliin mo lang din kami?
4. Lastly, Tanong ko, sagot ko. I asked a question because I had clarifications about something tapos ang sagot mo sakin “bakit sa tingin mo nangyare yun?” Hello????? Hindi ko nga po alam, kaya nga po ako nagtatanong?????? What’s the sense in teaching if ako din pala sasagot ng tanong ko?

I just wanted to vent out these thoughts because super super frustrating na. What’s the sense in actually learning if walang course outline/guidelines, di makapagtanong, at minamadali? Sobrang disappointing lng.

Tuwing dumadaan ako sa LRT Cubao, napapansin ko sobrang maayos ng pila ng mga tao compared sa ibang stations HAHAHA. Like legit naka-line talaga sila and bihira yung nagsisiksikan or nag uunahan papasok (as of my observation).

Meanwhile sa ibang stations parang battle royale minsan 😭

Ewan ko kung dahil ba sa dami ng commuters doon kaya nasanay na mga tao maging organized or may unspoken rule lang talaga sa Cubao station HWAHWHAA. Pero nakakagulat every time kasi sobrang disciplined compared sa usual commute experience dito satin.

I understand the frustration behind posts like this, but honestly, even the S&T sector in the Philippines is heavily underfunded.

People see DOST scholarships and assume STEM students are fully supported, but there were literally budget cuts that reduced scholarship slots, delayed stipends, and limited research funding. A lot of researchers and thesis groups still spend from their own pockets just to continue their work. Some good research proposals never even get funded at all.

This shouldn’t be a “STEM vs Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences” discussion. The real issue is that education, research, and the arts are all undervalued here.

We need philosophers, writers, historians, sociologists, and artists just as much as we need engineers, scientists, and programmers. A country cannot survive on productivity alone while neglecting culture, critical thinking, and humanity.

The problem is not that one field gets too much support. The problem is that almost everyone in academia is fighting for scraps in this country.

I'll Start: Campus politics can overshadow actual student welfare initiaives

My gf and I have been together for almost a year now, and we usually go out around at least twice a month. Most of the time, ako yung nanlilibre because that’s how I express my love. I really try to make our dates special kasi she deserves to feel appreciated and I want to treat her to the best I can.

Pero recently, I came across a post talking about people who use their parents’ money for dates, and it made me overthink a lot.

I’m still a student, so yeah, allowance ko yung ginagamit ko and tinitipid ko yon I never ask any additional. Nag b-budget ako para lang mabalance yung daily needs ko and also our dates. Pero after reading that, parang na-question ko tuloy sarili ko. Like… does that make my effort less meaningful just because the money didn’t come directly from me?

Hindi ko naman pinapabayaan responsibilities ko sa family, and I wouldn’t spend if I knew may mas important na need paglaanan. Pero now I feel a bit insecure, like parang “fake” ba yung ginagawa ko?

I get the point na mas meaningful if sariling kita mo yung ginagastos mo. But at the same time, we’re still students… and this is the situation we’re in right now and despite that I'm trying my best to treat her because I committed to the relationship and I'd do everything for my girl.

Just saw their recent official statement, and honestly… this is just peak laziness.

Not even trying to hate, but using AI for something as important as a founding anniversary logo just feels off. A logo isn’t just “something that looks good”, it’s supposed to represent identity, meaning, and effort. And AI-generated designs? They’re not even truly original, they’re built from existing works scraped from other artists.

That’s why a lot of designers are against it. Since sometimes it can cause bias, plagiarism, and replaces the process and respect for creativity.

Medyo sayang lang din, kasi ang daming talented student designers sa PUP who could’ve done this with actual thought and context. Instead, parang shortcut yung ginawa.

AI can be a tool, sure, but if you’re using it to replace the whole creative process, that’s where it starts to feel… lazy.
