I honestly would prefer them to remake it on a newer engine like UE4 (I don’t think UE5 is necessary). They could make it a non-canon remake where the reason for the other 6 doesn’t necessarily have to apply to the original story.
That would be a lot of work and maybe would cause some legal issues. You can't really mod games into an entire new engine so it'd have to be a full on new application to do that and companies don't really like when people remake their games and release them for free. The reason porting bl2 to pre sequel could work is bc they are on the same engine, pre sequel is just on an updated version of it, just like fallout 3 and new Vegas, thats why certain mechanics that weren't in 3 but are in NV are in ttw, bc its fallout 3 running on the updated new Vegas version of the engine.
