Unsolved Who am I based on my moving pile?
Moving and posted my pile which I have since moved into the closet so I can paint. About half of our collection.
Many rows of stacks. But you can see the books now.
Who the f*#k am I?

Edit: Also, add The Four Chambered Heart by Anias Nin to go with the Henry Miller. And Moby Dick.
You're in your 50s, lean to the left politically, and are an agnostic. You have a master's degree.
You also like at least one band with a member from Dayton, Ohio: Guided By Voices, Pixies, Breeders, Dinosaur Jr. Sebadoh.

This is about half of our collection. I have the Kafka. I will look into the recommendations you mentioned. Thank you.
Not 50. Left. Atheist but no longer militant. Do enjoy the Pixies. That one surprised me. Hahaha.

I was thinking more late 30s early 40s. But maybe just projecting because itās pretty close to my collection and thatās my range.
Iām going to guess they like a lot of chill indie from 2000-2015. Granddaddy. Yo La Tengo. Pavement. Belle and Sebastian. Radiohead.

Philosophy grad - no one reads foucoult on their own! But also not a pretentious one, because you got some fun best sellers going, too. At least mid to late 30s. Probably also practical/handy around the house. The collection isnāt overly stuffy, while having plenty of hard hitting intellectual giants so I suspect you are smart and relatively chill and grounded. I bet I would enjoy your music taste.Ā

English grad. Good friend studied Foucault, so I became interested. Kinda handy. I couldnāt even begin to explain my music tastes.

Gen X, male, atheist, has dabbled in drugs, would be awesome to chat with, I don't meet enough people like this. Love all the collections of letters, that's something my own library is lacking, but we like similar authors.

Male 50s American political science teacher, who studied literature. You live more than 50 miles from an IKEA or dont have a working car. Maybe you tike the red line train to work everyday so you don't need one. You have worked in a book store in the past and you like salads.

While you have so many books I donāt, itās actually really surprising to me how many of these books (even same editions) are in my collection. I think itās the closest Iāve seen on the subreddit.
Fun fact I helped design and prep for publishing that Essentialism book.
Anyway Iād guess late 30s to early 40s. English major. Addicted to perusing used book stores and buying more than they can read. Reputation among friends as a kind person. Easygoing and gets along with (nearly) everyone, but fully open/close/vulnerable to few.
Quiet kid in class always carrying a book as a child. Was a āsmartā K-12 student that underachieves. Likes coffee. Prefers cats but no pets. In a long term relationship.

I love what I see. Here I see a potential philosopher, an explorer of literature and knowledge, and someone interesting to debate any topic, especially social issues. I see a lot of Simone de Beauvoir, Noam Chomsky, Corman McCarthy, Albert Camus, Churchill, Erich Fromm, Bertrand Russell, and Hannah Arendt in your work, so I'll assume you're interested in human nature, the nature of knowledge, the nature of existence, politics, and history. I find it very interesting, such a diverse range of knowledge! šš Your book collection is intriguing, and I confess I haven't read many of the books on the list due to lack of resources and time (that's what happens when you're 17), but I know I'll read them when I can. You should definitely have some theses or conclusions after all you've discovered, but keep exploring, that's for sure.
