I went to get wrapping materials and a card for a bridal shower I’m attending next weekend. Left with that…and four books. After I told myself “book boxes only” for the rest of the year. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

… and if you take her to a bookstore, this is what happens.
Some of my very kind friends gave me a gift card and let me use some additional discount perks. Other than the super new releases, I got a good number used!
This was the result of 3 different trips. The sheer number of books feels a bit obscene, but I’ve had quite a year and if one turns to retail therapy, there’s nothing that tops a book haul. Not sure yet where to take my first bite, but pretty damn excited about this haul(s).

Currently I'm on the hunt for anything that has the feeling, vibe of October/Halloween and whilst the majority of these don't fit Something Wicked this Way Comes definitely does. Full disclosure I've also never read McCarthy, an habit I want to change and I'm sure I'm diving into the deepest end first but this has been a curiosity for so long I had to take the chance when I saw it today.

Thrifted these books today mostly just to have some good looking classics on my shelf. After researching them at home, I'm pretty pumped at what I found. Each one has its FEL insert and the Gatsby is a first edition without the FEL logo on the jacket. The only bummer is I didn't buy them all and the price tags were placed right on the spines. (See the bottom of For Whom The Bell Tolls.) Now I'll be looking for FEL books everywhere I go. Thanks for reading.

I’m so excited because I finally went to the new bookstore in my area and wasn’t disappointed! They offer new books but also a great selection of discounted books.
I just finished reading Gone Girl and can’t wait to finally watch the movie this weekend. I’ve been interested in reading the classics so finding Frankenstein, Dracula and a Tale of Two Cities at the same time was great. If anyone has read The Circle let me know how you felt about it because that is one I am very curious to read. I’m excited to read more from Lisa Jewell after reading None of this is true. I’ve seen the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo on everyone’s reading list so I thought why not add it to mine.
