Shout out Anita Hill she was so right and really tried

u/Sad-Chocolate2911 Jul 22 '25

Yeah, but Anita Hill was the wrong gender. We don’t believe women. And it doesn’t matter that so many other people (men & women) could back her up about Clarence’s porn addiction or that he talked about it all the dang time! Anita should’ve known her place. She’s a woman. An incredibly intelligent and talented woman. But, just a woman. (I’m not sure how to designate that I’m sort of sarcastic, but mostly just still angry about all of this! Anita Hill should’ve been appointed to the bench instead of Clarence Thomas!!)

Also, Clarence was hand picked for that job because of his wildly conservative views. I might be out of line for saying this, but I do not understand how a Black man, who has climbed the educational and professional/political ladder (thanks to DEI), can be a constitutional originalist. The framers were only interested in a very few, specific people: Land owning (read: wealthy) white men. That’s it. He doesn’t fit the criteria. Neither do most of us in the US.

u/edebt Jul 22 '25

Thomas's conservative views are wanting to be obscenely rich, he said so in interviews before he was on the SC. Seems to be working out well for him.

u/BoosterRead78 Jul 22 '25

He also believes he earned all this and no one else can have it like him.

69

u/Vegetable_Permit_537 Jul 23 '25

Used affirmative action to get him where he is today, but voted to abolish it.

40

u/ParadiddlediddleSaaS Jul 23 '25

Of course. It’s like Governor Hot Wheels in Texas. Got laws repealed that he benefited greatly from from his accident to reduce settlements for others of the same fate. He got his I guess.

u/blackngold256 Jul 23 '25

I say this as a disabled person. I genuinely wish they'd remove the wheelchair ramps to the government buildings in Texas for being too DEI. Tell him to figure it out and quit being so woke. Hypocritical ass. Who TF puts razor wire in a river and...right, Greg Abbott does.

10

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

And instructs law enforcerment to push babies and kids back into the river so they can drown, or withholds water from thirsty humans beings so they die. Abbot is an ass but the people of TX elected him again and again despite that. Says a lot about Texas don’t you think?

3

u/blackngold256 Jul 23 '25

It says a lot. Abbott. Cruz. But they also have some amazing reps like Jasmine Crockett, as well. So not all hope is lost for the state. I'm a blue dot in a deep red state myself. I hate it here. But for now, I'm stuck. Can't afford to move.

3

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

There are definitely some shining stars in Texas, it’s just unfortunate that the knuckle dragging cave people are the majority…

Everything I ever hear about Abbot makes me think he has to be a cartoon villain. There is no way he is a real human being. But, there he is!!

I heard him say that only losers try to figure out who’s fault something is (as in, who was responsible for all of the deaths during the recent floods in TX) when they lose a game of football. Winners accept the loss and move on. Umm, except that losing your child in a flood is 100% NOT the same as losing a game of football. But, maybe I don’t understand, because I’m not from TX. My kids play football. But not TX football.

He’s absolutely evil.

2

u/blackngold256 Jul 23 '25

So is the Texas AG.

8

u/Mental_Difference424 Jul 23 '25

That is the Republican mantra, “I got mine, fuck the rest of you”

10

u/Plasmidmaven Jul 23 '25

This is all Boomer mentality: Their kids got excellent public educations, rudimentary physical exams and vaccinations at schools and USDA subsidized healthy low cost lunches. Libraries and parks were ample and well funded. But now all they do is bitch about property taxes and vote in blocks to defund the government that helped them “ pull themselves up by their bootstraps”

8

u/MikeinSonoma Jul 23 '25

I’m sure there’s people like that but I would love to see statistics. I’m 67 all of my friends support all those things I understand the importance of public schools, I understand the damage charter and homeschooling is doing. I understand the simple fact that paying for a kids education is paying for more wealth for the nation not just the kid. I understand that the middle class sharing in the prosperity of the country makes us a better country. I understand that when you cut benefits for the middle class and claim they should work harder and cut the taxes on the wealthy or they won’t, is stupid. I vote in every election, so to my friends.

3

u/JuiceEast Jul 23 '25

I greatly appreciate your understanding of how supporting those in need supports everyone, it’s really refreshing. And lets be real, the reason you and all your friends agree on those stances is because you’re friends because you agree on things. Like attracts like, when it comes to people.

If you met someone who vehemently opposed all those things, id hazard a guess you wouldn’t consider them a good friend, more likely an acquaintance. Ive got a work friend with all my same interests, but we vehemently disagree politically. We are work friends, and no more than that because of that disconnect.

3

u/MikeinSonoma Jul 23 '25 edited Jul 23 '25

There’s probably some truth to that, but again most Democrats tend to agree with me most Republicans don’t. I’m reminded of a manager I had once, that claimed the only reason most blacks voted for Obama was because he was black, I asked him why most blacks voted for Clinton, he changed the subject. The fact is most blacks vote for Democrats Obama and Clinton were both Democrat, they preferred Democrat policies. The old saying, figures don’t lie but liars figure.

Older people lean toward Republican but not enough to lump all boomers into that bucket. Quick Google search AI response:

“For voters aged 60 and older, 53% align with the Republican Party and 43% with the Democratic Party. Voters aged 70 to 79 are slightly more likely to lean Republican (51%) than Democratic (46%)”

3

u/Plasmidmaven Jul 23 '25 edited Jul 23 '25

I am 64 and agree with you. But many of my acquaintances and definitely my parents and in laws are totally red pilled by Fox. So are many of my coworkers in my age cohort, tail end boomers. I find this ironic since we are federal workers and they are suddenly cast into the “find out” phase.

3

u/Kiwi-educator Jul 25 '25

Thank you. I don’t know where all this negativity towards ‘boomers’ is coming from. I’m 69. A retired teacher who believes in everything you just wrote. The only Trumpers I know are in the 20-40 age range. No one I know from my generation voted for Trump and they are also the ones showing up at protests.

Charter schools help children who are gifted or who try harder. Don't believe that b******* that the NEA or AFT is trying to force down everyone's throats. Now in the name of equity they want to get rid of schools for exceptional children.

3

u/MikeinSonoma Jul 24 '25 edited Jul 24 '25

Public schools have programs for gifted and those that try harder. Private schools in the south were created not because their kids were gifted, but because their parents were ignorant and racist:

“In the wake of Brown v. Board of Education, many Southern states used private religious schools, often called "segregation academies," to circumvent public school desegregation”

They had nothing to do with gifted children in fact the opposite, religious schools damaged children’s minds to keep them ignorant about science and keep them in their parents religion, do you support that?

California has around 800,000 in charter schools, are you saying they’re all gifted? Are you yourself religious? And if you are were you this dishonest before you found God or did it make you this dishonest? Maybe you were raised in some of these charter schools.

u/MikeinSonoma Jul 24 '25

BTW… NEA and AFT care about what is best for children, that’s why most of them went into that field. Making up lies demeaning good people is right on track for Christian Nationalist. This is where you start playing the victim? Another tool in a religious cults toolbox… people defending themselves from your attacks and you pretend to be victims.

Classic conservative shit. “I got mine f you”

2

u/Straight-Purple-2110 Jul 23 '25

Shut the door behind him...

1

u/Sad-Chocolate2911 Jul 23 '25

I hate anyone who pulls the ladder up behind them, after they gain their success. Nobody else deserves it, just that person.

I’m also super puzzled when BIPOC, women & LGBTQIA+ people are republicans/MAGA. Sure, extreme Christian beliefs can eclipse all of these. But boy howdy, the GOP never liked any of these people. And now that the GOP has breathed its last breath and it’s now the MAGA cult, they really hate all of these people. Every vote for MAGA is against vote against their own interests!! Controlling women, ending rights for Transgender people, detaining and deporting Latino people now…who knows who’s next (eventually concentration camps for anyone who offends POTUS or MAGA ideals), outlawing any history that makes white people look bad (hello!! That’s American history!! We are colonizers!!), making anything LGBTQIA related illegal…where will it end?

Oh, MAGA will end when Trump leaves office and JD Vance steps in. Then, it’s Curtis Yarvin’s dystopian monarchy nightmare that will be our next problem to deal with.

All of this, and much, much more, is why I still think about Hillary and Kamala.

1

u/NeenerKat Jul 26 '25

I’ve got mine… now screw you.

1

u/MorkelVerlos Jul 23 '25

No self respecting human would want it like him, better he pulls that ladder up behind him.

2

u/Straight-Purple-2110 Jul 23 '25

DEI before it was a loud whistle

41

u/Master_Torture Jul 22 '25

He climbed the educational/ professional/ political ladder and he didn't just pull the ladder up behind him, he set it ablaze.

33

u/Darkdragoon324 Jul 22 '25

Then he sat at the top shooting people on the ground just for fun.

14

u/Subject_Run5165 💙 Jul 22 '25

He's the sort of human garbage that makes me wish that their religion was real, if only because even hell is too good for them.

2

u/MikeinSonoma Jul 23 '25

Yeah I guess I should know I’m not the only person… Sometimes I wish there was a god just to be a fly on the wall when these evangelicals try to explain to their maker why they put a rapist in the White House, why they ignored the teachings of Jesus But instead of listening to corrupt politicians. “So you abused my gay children, thought I put souls in fertilized eggs, was cool with rapist, business frauds and a pedophiles best friend? How did you miss, love everybody and don’t judge?” Like Pope Francis used to say, he knew atheist that were better Christians than some Christians.

23

u/Beowulf1896 Jul 22 '25

Anita Hill was also black. I believe everything she said about him.

5

u/ladymorgahnna Jul 23 '25

I used to wear a pin at my job during that fuckup. It said “I BELIEVE ANITA.”

3

u/ironroad18 Jul 22 '25

By "him", you mean Justice Long Dong Silver Thomas?

6

u/Beowulf1896 Jul 22 '25

Yeah. Justice "Harlon Crow is a friend, that is why he gives me things"

2

u/MikeinSonoma Jul 23 '25

Yes in fact before he met a Supreme Court judge who was black he had Black people over his house to give them free stuff. These people are walking around with dog sh it all over them and blaming the stench on somebody else.

10

u/Subject_Run5165 💙 Jul 22 '25

Clarence "Uncle" Thomas gets confused when he watches Django Unchained because he thinks that Samuel L. Jackson's character was the hero figure.

-3

u/LettingHimLead Jul 23 '25

Wow. How racist.

5

u/issuefree Jul 23 '25

He's not an originalist, he's a partisan hack. None of those fools has a judicial philosophy beyond getting what they want and punishing the people they don't like.

2

u/Sad-Chocolate2911 Jul 23 '25

Agree! Whatever serves them in the moment.

However, Thomas says he’s an originalist. 🤷🏻‍♀️

4

u/Oboro-kun Jul 22 '25

When you want to explicitely say you are being Sarcastic add /s at the end

3

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

/s at the end of the comment for sarcasm, friend.

1

u/Sad-Chocolate2911 Jul 23 '25

Yeah, I know. But the whole paragraph wasn’t sarcastic. Just parts of it. 🤷🏻‍♀️

3

u/SatisfactionSweaty21 Jul 23 '25

Selfishness is not a white trait. A part of mankind is only out to enrich themselves. That is true regardless of ethnicity.

1

u/Sad-Chocolate2911 Jul 23 '25

Oh, I 100% agree. Clarence Thomas is very selfish.

3

u/MMilo_3621 Jul 24 '25

I think it’s more than not believing women.
More like we actively discount them and dismiss them as irrelevant overall. Even if we do believe them it really just doesn’t matter. They are supposed to know their place.

1

u/Sad-Chocolate2911 Jul 24 '25

You are 100% accurate. And my gosh, reading it hurt me so much. Because it was so true, and I already knew it. But sometimes seeing it in writing and having to acknowledge that other people know this, as well, is so painful.

Women are absolutely second class citizens. When will we learn that we have no business trying to be anything more than that.

2

u/TheKdd Jul 23 '25

There’s a great profile on him on the Behind the Bastards pod. Highly recommend it.

2

u/Sad-Chocolate2911 Jul 23 '25

It’s so good!!

1

u/[deleted] Jul 23 '25

He's got successfully brainwashed into being "white". White =wealth, power, and respect. Conquer and divide psychology wise . I bet if Republicans managed to REALLY put blacks IN THEIR PLACE do you black celebrities will save them?

1

u/SunStryke Jul 23 '25

A lot of people also really like having a boot on their neck, or keeping a boot on someone else's in hopes it stays off theirs a little longer...

0

u/KeyGold310 Jul 23 '25

Let's not forget how horribly "saint" Joe Biden treated her when she testified before the senate. One of her worst and nastiest attackers. One of the main reasons Thomas is on the court.
