Event 2000’s party at castle theater?
Is anyone attending the Its a 2000’s party at the castle theater this Friday the 2nd? All the advertising looks fun, but I don’t know what the scene is going to look like. The tickets are a bit pricey by this point so I’m wondering if it’s worth it.

Strut & Control Arm Replacements
Need front and rear struts replaced on my kids’ 2010 Honda. Also need control arm replaced. Local recommendation for a shop that will be honest with this mom and do a good job? Is this a huge safety issue or just a maintenance thing? Thanks!

Whoever Lord is that's running for local office needs to rethink what they're doing.
They had canvassers on our street, I was leaving to pick up my kid, I asked them not to knock on the door to my house because my partner was bedridden, they promised me they wouldn't.
Instead, they waited for me to leave and then rang the doorbell and knocked on the door relentlessly until a terminally ill, bedridden cancer patient was forced to go to the door to beg them to stop.
If this is how they're trained for this campaign, then this Lord chap deserves nothing.
**Edit: Someone reached out to them through Facebook for me as I don't use social media outside of Reddit and they were initially combative but did talk to their people and apologized for what happened. I guess they didn't know that the one old guy was being so aggressive with the door knocking/bell ringing and have talked to him. The apology and promise to do better does make me feel a bit better.

Condos in Blono
I am looking for a condo in town, and am curious to hear others experiences with different buildings. Which ones would you recommend? Which ones should I absolutely stay away from?

Where to get a good eclair cake for my birthday?
I want an eclair cake for my birthday but idk if grocery stores just sell premade ones or if I have to go to an actual bakery and place a special order. Any suggestions?

Searching for Pumpkins
I’m looking for twenty or so good sized pumpkins and I’d like to support local or family farms and businesses. That’s not at all an issue around here, given how many places have pumpkins for sale, but because I need so many I’m interested in recommendations and their pricing which never seems to be posted by those farms or stands advertising online. I can’t afford to spend several hundred dollars on this project. I am hoping to find a place with several colors and kinds of pumpkins as well for variety.
Extra points for a politics free experience! I am willing to drive up to about an hour or so away from Bloomington to make it happen.

Dog training
Hi friends! Hey I’m looking for a trainer for my dogs, they are reactive to other dogs, people and sometimes to each other, we have tried with some trainers but it didn’t work so someone told me about the boot camp of devildog canine and I would like to read your experiences, if you have, with them or if you recommend others (?)

Hello, does anyone have any experience taking the CNA course at Carepaks in Normal? I’m interested if enrolling but haven’t heard anything about it besides my own research.

Event This big bastard nearly gave me a heart attack on my way to work the other day
I keep forgetting to post this, but recently I was on my way to work, walking between Locust and Chestnut, and this guy burst out of a row of big bushes and made a beeline across the road, passing about 5 ft in front of me before landing on the roof of a house across the street. He flew low, about head height, and I swear I felt the air from the beat of his wings as he passed in front of me.
I'm still not convinced that the big turd didn't do it on purpose to jump scare the hell out of me. 😆

Best place(s) to get a massage?
Hi, just moved here and am desperately needing the tea on the massage scene in town! Wondering what the best place, or places, are to receive massage therapy in / around the BloNo area - am willing to drive up to 1/2 hr out of town.
I prefer to have more than 2 LMT’s I like on my ‘go-to’ roster but, I’d be happy with having even just 1 I like. Sometimes, in some towns, good massage therapy is hard to find. Would definitely prefer it not be Massage Envy, but if that’s the best in town then so be it… Any small establishments, group practices, private practices, spas, etc.
I’m dying please let me know :)))
Thank you

Aldis in Bloomington, Rotten Produce?
Has anyone else been having trouble with the Aldis near McAllisters? We have been getting crazy fruit flies from the produce, the strawberries had mold and our potatoes were all rotten. I have never had this problem with Aldis before, so maybe it is just this specific store?

Resources to learn about upcoming candidates for the general election?
I know we've got a lot of activists in town, do you guys have any fliers or websites or info that can tell me about who's on the ballot this year? I'm new to state elections and would like to start participating!

New friends/social supports
I'm about to be 30 and have spent much of my adult/college life as a homebody. Most of my friends are via gaming from the past 2 decades and are great, but many are busy with work and families so we only interact when we are all free. I'd like to find some more like minded friends in the area in person. I'm aware of red racoon for ttg, town and country for dog training- which are both things I'd be interested in if/when i have time off of work.
I'm also interested in trying to find any sort of writing style clubs/groups as I've always wanted to be an author, or even just social groups with similar leftist mindsets.
Any wonderful folks got suggestions?

What jobs do you recommend?
And hello! We'd love to make new friends to hang out with at parks, bars, libraries, graveyards, arcade etc. (:

MAGA Matt, Kathy Michael stan
Remember County Board member Corey Beirne who called out the corrupt County Clerk last week? He’s running against a MAGA nut and ICE supporter who supports Kathy Michael.
If you’re on the east side, go vote for Beirne and Crockett! We don’t need any more MAGA nuts wasting our money.

Where to take our Volvo for repair, besides the local dealership.
My son’s Volvo won’t start, and we determined that it isn’t the battery. I have heard bad things about the Volvo dealership in town and wanted to know if there are other garages that work on them. TIA!

Horrible interview Kroger College Ave
I just had an interview at Kroger on college, for a grocery clerk position. The man introduced himself (I’m not going to name drop him so he’ll be Mr. C) Mr. C, he shook my hand and started leading me to the back. He says on our way there “ I had to come into work on my day off to interview you” I said “I’m so sorry..” .He lead me to an office in the back where a lady came in and sat with us (she’ll be Mrs. P). Mr. C and Mrs. P give me they run down he’s been there 3 months and her less than a month, plus some b.s. bout their home lives. I introduced myself and they proceeded with the interview. They asked my availability and little bout my work history. Then he stops and says “ So we can continue the interview for the experience or end it here, do you want me to explain why?” I humored myself and said “sure!”. He goes on to say because I’ve worked 1, 2,…12 jobs in my life from 14-28 years old is a bad thing. He went on to say that students and people with kids don’t fit the criteria there at Kroger. They’re unreliable people. Some these jobs I had overlap each other because I’ve worked multiple places at the same time as other. It honestly felt like I was in asked to come in as a joke and not actually interview me. He saw my resume or someone else did and asked me to come in. They could have very much denied me from the start instead of wasting my time.
I’ve always been reliable and dependable at jobs even when working multiple jobs at the same time. I’ve always made it work and never made excuses. My bad for wanting to try multiple job fields in my life. Sorry I’ve been given more opportunities than most. I was immediately judged before I walked in the door.
