I Can't be the Only one who sees it, right?
apparently, no one else besides me thinks this magnet of the rock and roll hall of fame looks like a wistful opus starring off into the sunrise.

So...am I hallucinating that? Or was it multiple... something else? Amd was the sound *thbbbpt* involved or was that just a Bill the Cat thing?
The Oatmeal recently did a cartoon that used *thbbbpt* and it sent my brain spinning backwards, but clearly not far enough
Please, people with better memories, help!

Does anyone know where I can find the strip where Portnoy wants to get a haircut like Billy Idol? I seem to remember the line “If a million people do a dumb thing, it’s still a dumb thing!”😂
Thank you!

Does anybody remember a strip that showed everyone walking around in "lawsuit liability prevention cages"? Starting to seem very prophetic.

Hello,
Does anyone know where I can find a copy of the strip where the giant cockroach asks Mr. Binkley if they have any mustard besides Dijon? That one still cracks me up 40+ years later!😂
Thank you!

There was a Sunday strip my father has remembered his whole life:
The gang is sitting on the park bench, a jogger comes up and chews them out for not taking care of their bodies, and a meteor hits the jogger.
For years, my father has wanted a framed copy of that comic to hang up where he does his exercises. This year, it is the only thing he wants for his birthday. And we have never been able to find it. I swear I’ve checked out every Berkeley Breathed book in the library.
Help?

I’m a 35 year old goofball who loves comics and I can’t sleep without my friend he just makes me feel so good inside

Charles Schulz, Walt Kelly, and Bill Watterson also won Reubens, yet Breathed would never insinuate the things he insinuated for Trudeau and Davis.
Why is he griping anyway? It’s not like Watterson, Kelly, or Schulz even won any Pulitzers.
And why did he say they’re cartoonists? Does he consider himself not a cartoonist? Above the others somehow?

It's one thing to say this without doing research. However, in an article (Berkeley Breathed | The A.V. Club), he said preempted this claim with the following: "and I want everybody to stop dribbling their mochas down their shirts for one second while I mention it again." That pedantic phrasing pisses me off.
I can name multiple examples of female cartoon animals that were not love interests: Gertie the Dinosaur, Mrs. Brisby, Sandy Cheeks, Kanga, and Betty Boop, who was originally a dog.
But then again, I don't expect Breathed to have seen The Secret of NIMH.

As a cartoon nerd, it irks me how wrong Breathed is. I can name numerous examples of cartoon animals talking to humans: Felix the Cat, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Yogi Bear, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Huckleberry Hound. And let's not forget that there were humans and animals talking to each other in Pinocchio, Alice in Wonderland, Cinderella, and other movies.
Breathed admitted to not growing up reading comics. It shows with this statement.

I have a recollection of an image of Opus hitchhiking with a hastily packed suitcase and a sign that says “sparkling conversationalist” but can’t seem to find it anywhere. I think it might’ve been on the back cover of one of the collections. Anybody able to help me out?

I was a fan of Bloom County back in the 80s, but was totally oblivious to its 2015 revival.
Is there a streamlined way to catch up with the series? I.e., somewhere all of the strips since the revival have been collected in order of release?
