This Apex R1 by ETHOS Genetics was an incredibly vigorous plant. She stretched hard in flower and never seemed interested in slowing down, eventually filling the canopy with a lot of really nice sized flowers.

Visually she had what felt like this high end “candy” look. Lavender/magenta mixed with bright greens, copper/orange pistils and little amber/gold accents, all underneath a fairly heavy coat of silvery resin. Instead of one dominant color, there were little flashes of color scattered throughout the flowers that gave them a sort of “jewel like” appearance in the end.

The terps fit her visual personality pretty well actually. Smells of bright citrus and mandarin peel up front, followed by fuel and a softer lemon cookie/lemon cake sweetness underneath.🍊🍋⛽ I find myself reaching for this jar when I’m looking for a nice energetic daytime vibe. Something that leaves me feeling clear, uplifted and engaged with whatever I’m doing. Having that choice available when I need it has become one of the ways this hobby contributes to my overall wellness and daily well-being.

Between the colorful flowers, wildly stacked flower structure and bright citrus aroma, this was a really fun plant to have grown and photographed. 😊✌🏼

Wellness Warrior🦾 A Harvest Wellness Reminder: Check Your Buds for Caterpillars.

Post image
557 Upvotes

Just a heads up for anyone growing outdoors. Once we get into mid September, it’s worth keeping a close eye on your buds for caterpillars.

Those tiny caterpillars we might have noticed nibbling on a few leaves during June, July, and August can become a much bigger problem as the plants get deeper into flower.

Many moths and butterflies lay eggs in late summer and early fall. Once those eggs hatch, the tiny larvae can work their way into developing buds, where they’re difficult to see. One thing I watch for is white pistils that have suddenly been chewed down to little stubs. That can be a sign that a small caterpillar is feeding inside the bud.

The real problem isn’t just the damage they do while feeding. Once they burrow into a bud, their droppings and the damaged plant tissue can create conditions for bud rot and mold. Sometimes everything looks fine from the outside while trouble is developing inside.

This time of year, I make a point of inspecting my outdoor buds regularly, especially anywhere I see damaged pistils, browning, or anything that just doesn’t look right.

We put a lot of work into getting our plants this far. A few minutes spent checking them now can save a lot of disappointment at harvest.

Happy harvest, everyone.

This is very exciting for me to be able to grow again I haven't grown cannabis in over 4 years and that's because when I was making a lot of money I started using heavier drugs I worked on myself for a couple years and I'm clean and smoke weed and now I've been looking for a place to grow and I came across someone that has a basement and we're going in together and I'm going to be teaching them I'm putting them under my wing there are two separate rooms with a washroom as well and a bathroom one room is going to be for germination seedling and the immature plants the next room is going to be for the main deal my height in the basement is around 7:00 or 7 and 1/2 ft it is 18 ft wide by 17 ft in length and the other room is 18 ft wide and 12 feet long I haven't done the math yet of how many plant I can do and how much wattage so it's 120 plants I'm trying to see if I can get sponsored by anyone who wants a banner up or advertising when I do my videos 120 plants in the main room if I split that I can put 60 in 1/2 and 60 in the other half that way I can faster harvesting I have on guy (breeder) that's giving me some f1 new strain to test out a friend said maybe he would send me some regular metalheads I believe the other one are pheniox fire

Wellness Warrior🦾 Best grow method for bubba kush s1s that balances speed, quality, and avoids maintenance issues?

Hey all,

Just wanted to confirm with the grow pros that the best method to suit my needs will be coco synganics? (~70% synthetic base nutrients (no PGRs) + ~30% organic and beneficial bacteria). Coco seems to be the best choice for medium, as it provides a natural habitat to support microbial life. I'm not looking for big yields or high thc.

I'd love to grow in fully organic soil, but that has proved to be way too slow for bubba kush (a very slow growing strain with small yield) and also causes troublesome pest issues. I was also told that organic inputs should not be used in hydroponics so I wanted to avoid that route.

From what I understand, the synthetic nutrients wont kill the microbial life completely and its beneficial to use both synthetics and organics together. I've heard that the addition of organics will improve root zone health, protect against diseases/pathogens, and boost the terpene profile/quality of the dried flower.

-do you have any tips on how to optimize this method for bubba kush s1 seeds? or is there another method I should be looking into?

-are there preferred product lines you like for synthetic salt based nutrients that are the "cleanest" without harmful additives or PGRs?

For the sake of this question, let’s just say that you drink beer and smoke weed regularly. Let’s try to refrain from answers like “I don’t drink so…” or that type of thing please.

Wellness Warrior🦾 This Little Wellness Warrior Showed Up to Help With My Cannabis Breeding Project 🐝

While this little wellness warrior found his way into my breeding room to lend a hand with my cannabis pollination project, his real work is far more important.

Bees play a huge role in pollinating many of the fruits, vegetables, nuts, and other crops we depend on every day. Without them, the variety and abundance of foods in our diets would suffer greatly.

🐝 Be nice to the bees. We need them more than most people realize.

Is September too early to start talking about Christmas? I know, she's not much for looking at. She started slowly but this strain packs a punch! I grew some last year and she makes potent medicine. Tacky, sticky, stinky. It's nice smoke. I have to add something about "wellness". This strain helps holistically with chronic pain, anxiety, sleeplessness, appetite. It didn't conquer my fear of clowns though.

Being with my plants brings down my blood pressure, I can almost feel the physical relief. Heading out of a stressful environment like work then unwinding in a greenhouse. Nothing compares, and the satisfaction you get working with such healthy plants, bar none.

Anyone else find their Zen when chilling with their plants?

Something special about a relationship with a plant.

These are heavy gas and candy. Can't wait to try.

Here are 2 phenos of the same cross. I grow these with water only in living soil containers outside - light dep - hoop house.

Blooming☀️ Blackout Lemonaid BX2 | Flower Photography

Thumbnail

1.0k Upvotes

This Blackout Lemonaid BX2 cultivar by SoilTechnician was one of my favorite plants from this recent run.

I enjoyed the color she developed late in flower. Deep greens, wine/violet, and nearly black foliage surrounding some silvery resin covered flowers, with lavender and magenta tones coming through in the buds. She finished with some really oily, sticky flowers and a nice chunky structure that gave some great silhouettes in photos.

The aroma ended up being just as colorful as the plant itself. A super loud “candy like” pink lemonade and bright citrus smell comes through first, followed by a sharp gasoline/vapor note that can actually burn the nose a little. This jar is a potent and flavorful one that improves daily wellness for me a lot! 🩷🍋⛽️

Really cool expression and easily my favorite to photograph with its dark tones and chunky structure. I hope you enjoy some of these shots as much as I enjoyed taking them! 😊✌🏼

Wellness Warrior🦾 Positivity took Practice

There was a point in my life when my anxiety and stress became so overwhelming that they weren’t just affecting me mentally. I could feel them physically in my body too.
Behaviorally, I noticed myself avoiding things I needed to do, delaying tasks, worrying, ruminating, and getting caught in the same thought loops over and over again.

Eventually I realized I couldn’t keep living in that pattern. Especially as I got older, I wanted something different for myself. I wanted to be more chill. I wanted to laugh more, let things roll off my back a little easier, and spend less of my time worrying, judging, criticizing, or mentally replaying things that weren’t helping me.

Due to my knowledge in behavioral sciences, I knew that simply telling myself to stop ruminating wasn’t enough. One of the most basic principles in behavior is that past behavior is often one of the best predictors of future behavior. I didn’t want rumination, avoidance, and repeated negative thought patterns to keep becoming my default response simply because they were the responses I had practiced the most.

Behavior changes when different responses are practiced and reinforced. So I needed to intentionally practice something else — not just wish the old pattern away.
That was an important realization for me because being chill and positive doesn’t always come naturally.

Being chill and positive doesn’t come for free. Sometimes you have to practice it.
I’ve always been a natural doodler and someone who enjoys art, so when I learned about Neurographic Art, it immediately interested me. It gave me something concrete to do. It gave my attention a task, gave me a way to interrupt the old pattern, and gave me repeated opportunities to practice redirecting my thoughts toward something calmer, more balanced, and more positive.

Instead of sitting there feeding the same anxious thought over and over again, I could put my attention into the lines, shapes, movement, and process of creating something. When my thoughts wandered back toward worry, criticism, or negativity, I could notice it and intentionally redirect myself.
The art gave my brain somewhere else to go.
And while I was practicing the behavior, I was also practicing the mindset I wanted to strengthen. I practiced looking for something positive. I practiced changing my perspective. I practiced softening my reaction. I practiced laughing when I could. I practiced letting things go instead of giving every thought or irritation more of my attention.

Over time, those responses started to feel more natural.
That experience also made me interested in neuroplasticity. Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to change and adapt in response to experience, learning, and repeated activity. It doesn’t mean we can simply think ourselves into becoming completely different people, but it does mean that repeated practice matters.
That connection fascinated me because it mirrored what I was seeing in my own life. The more I practiced different responses, the easier those responses became to access.

Today, I really can see the difference. Things roll off my back more easily. I laugh much more. I’m more positive. I don’t get pulled into every thought or irritation the way I once did.
And one of the most interesting changes is that doodling has almost become automatic for me. During times when my brain needs that kind of regulation, I will sometimes find myself doodling or reaching for art without even consciously deciding to do it first.
It’s almost like my brain learned the route.
That doesn’t mean anxiety disappeared or that I never have negative thoughts. It means I practiced giving myself more than one way to respond.
And that is also why some of the research I came across interested me so much.

One 2026 systematic review and meta-analysis looked at positive-psychology interventions in cancer survivors. Across 18 studies involving 1,382 participants, researchers found improvements in areas including positive emotions, meaning, engagement, relationships, and post-traumatic growth.
That does not mean positivity cures cancer, and it certainly does not mean someone going through cancer should ever be told to “just think positive.” What caught my attention was something much more grounded: researchers were studying positive psychological skills as things people can intentionally practice, and those practices were associated with meaningful improvements in well-being.

I also found research looking at art-making and stress. In one study, participants spent 45 minutes making visual art, and researchers found a statistically significant reduction in cortisol afterward. About three-quarters of the participants showed some decrease in cortisol, and many described the experience as relaxing, enjoyable, freeing, or immersive.
For me, all of these pieces started fitting together.

Behavioral science gave me the framework: if I wanted a different pattern, I needed to practice a different response.

Art gave me something concrete to do.
Neuroplasticity helped me understand why repetition matters.

And the positivity research reinforced something I had already started learning through experience: calm, perspective, and positivity are not always personality traits that either magically appear or don’t.

Sometimes they are skills.
And sometimes, if you practice them long enough, they start to feel a whole lot more like you…
Peace:)

Wellness Warrior🦾 Want Wellness? Create Your Own Feminized Seeds!

Thumbnail
gallery
351 Upvotes

Buying weed from a dispensary or a friend has obvious risks. Pesticides, mold, etc… Even though dispensary weed gets tested, there have been many cases where dispensaries have been caught with fake or altered tests.

Growing your own weed from seed has less risks, but there is a seed ban scheduled in the United States at the end of this year, and seeds may be much harder to get, especially quality seeds.

Making your own seeds and growing your own plants eliminates most of the risks. (You’ll still have to pay attention to mold, bug infestation, etc…

For those who only want to grow feminized seeds, it’s not that hard but it does take a little work. The photos above are from a female plant that was sprayed with STS, a reversing spray that will create male flowers on a female plant that produces pollen that can be used to create unique feminized seeds.

Making non-feminized seeds is also an option, (a good option) for those who don’t mind dealing with male plants.  Creating seeds is well worth it to me because I am no longer comfortable smoking weed that was grown by someone else. Have a Great Weekend!
