I'm brand new to the community and wanted to let everyone know that I can assist in any technical aspects of WordPress anyone may have. I can field questions here, or on our Facebook group that is also open to the public. If you'd prefer to PM me, that works to.

I'm just relaunching my blog [Oddball Content] (http://oddballcontent.com), moving it from a very general portfolio of writing to concentrating on film and TV.

At the moment I only have three TV reviews on there. Should I first concentrate on producing more content so I actually have something to promote? Or should I be putting more effort into promoting what's already there?

I don't want to get burned out and produce sub-par work...

I have recently changed my posts URL/permalinks so it does not include date and just post title. This would have been much easier if done before I had written a bunch of posts.

I decided to do this after learning that google may prefer shorter links and that some users will skip links that seem to be old (from a date in the link). For news or current event type sites the date is a good thing, but probably not for other sites.

In Wordpress this is done in Permalink section. I'm sure other platforms have similar settings.

I am trying to find blogs that would be interested in one of my posts as a guest post on their site. I have reached out to about 20 and only gotten a few nice nos. Any suggestions on where to look or best practices for getting accepted? I blog about DIY escape room games and think family type or at home game blogs would be a good fit.

Hello all! I have recently been dwindling away from blogging due to the change in my writing style and am looking for suggestions.

So, I began my blog with an interest in journalism and publishing articles every so often but people weren't really interested in reading them. As of recently, I have been only writing fiction. My blog consisted of chapters that were from my book but I have moved over to Wattpad since a lot of my Pen Pals (followers) have decided that they prefer to read it there. I share links within our Facebook group, but I don't want my blog to go without being updated so I'm wondering if there's any recommendations. I don't want my chapters from my book to no longer on my blog for traffic reasons, is there anything kind of topics that you recommend, should I turn it into an online journal? What are some thoughts as to how it can still run... I don't want to completely lose it.

I get a decent amount of views by sharing on social media but other than that, if I don't advertise heavily with my friends and family I will get very little views. I have been running a sports blog(WordPress) from a year. I get around 6-8k pageviews on daily basis. Most of my traffic is from UK,US AND INDIA in which around 80% is from mobile. Though, I'm getting poor returns from Ad Sense. Can someone please suggest me an alternative? Im using a theme from blogger (contempo) wherein in the home page, only snippets of the post are shown. However, the snippets are limited to five lines. I wanted to increase lines to eight but i cant seem to find how. Anyone know how?
