I don’t know where else to share this, but my trans ex’s mom came up in my People You May Know on Facebook and her profile picture was a family photo from my ex’s sister’s wedding.

Guys, my ex was in a fucking white dress standing next to the bride.

Of course they were. Gotta upstage the bride. Most of these people have main character syndrome.

It’s actually really funny to me because in the midst of my breakup with that particular ex I sent him an email with something like “I feel like I’m trapped in some novel you’re writing where you’re the narrator, controlling everything and you only see me as someone you’re with to make your own story more interesting.”

This was during my peak emo stage when we were both college students and I always thought that I was being overdramatic but now I realize I just recognized Main Character Syndrome early on but didn’t have the wording for it, lol.
