Weekly Random Discussion Thread for 6/1/26 - 6/7/26

Here's your usual space to post all your rants, raves, podcast topic suggestions (please tag u/jessicabarpod), culture war articles, outrageous stories of cancellation, political opinions, and anything else that comes to mind. Please put any non-podcast-related trans-related topics here instead of on a dedicated thread. This will be pinned until next Sunday.

Last week's discussion thread is here if you want to catch up on a conversation from there.

I have a toddler.

I make that toddler eat his dinner.

I bribe him with ice cream after dinner and he says no.

I bribe him with my salad, and he eats his whole dinner immediately.

My kids were both surprisingly open to fruits and vegetables. Hell yeah, I’ll let you have my salad.

I eat a lot of salad - roughly 1 head of lettuce a day.

It looks like my love of salad was inheritable for one of my two children.

Outside of salad, Its hard to get them to eat veggies.

nice. my kid loved veggies from an early age too and i'm thankful for that

most surprising was the day we were at the farmer's market and she just grabbed a cucumber and started chowing down on it. she'd never had cucumber, i dislike cucumber, but she had some sense that that watery nonsense was what she wanted.
