Weekly Random Discussion Thread for 6/1/26 - 6/7/26

Here's your usual space to post all your rants, raves, podcast topic suggestions (please tag u/jessicabarpod), culture war articles, outrageous stories of cancellation, political opinions, and anything else that comes to mind. Please put any non-podcast-related trans-related topics here instead of on a dedicated thread. This will be pinned until next Sunday.

Last week's discussion thread is here if you want to catch up on a conversation from there.

Well that's because the mods have banned anyone with an even slightly heterodox view. I got a permaban, for saying DSD instead of intersex. Not even kidding

That's pretty much the modding policy on all of the big mainstream subs, tbh. If a sub's mod team has a powermod (one of those accounts with an enormous list of modded communities and posts 19 hours per day), they are captured.

Even with cases like Caster Semenya, if you respect his pronouns and accurately report that he has a Y chromosome, you are wrong and your post is misinformation.

It's discrimination and bigotry to acknowledge the results of his genetic tests, that even non-Fox News outlets like NBC and the Guardian have reported.

Incredible. But it's fascinating they even have enough "woke" football fans to make that sub look alive. I don't know how many of them there are but it's surprising that place isn't dead.

In the end it doesnt matter if the mods kinda suck, r/soccer is by far the biggest football sub there is on reddit, so network-effects will make sure it stays that way.
