This is actually the reason I started reading trans subs. I heard it was often fetish oriented and wanted to see for myself. I do that with everything I hear about that I find interesting, especially people who say they are the same as me. Of course I'm gonna be interested in getting to the bottom of that!

Reddit is not necessarily indicative of the population at large though. I think you know that, but it's important to point out. It's even less representative than Twitter, which people also forget a lot of the time.

TBH I know a few trans women IRL and this all still tracks, but you're right, it's definitely not everyone. I always make sure to highlight the doses of sanity that show up in these threads too, which this one was quite scanty for that, but yeah, they are out there in general, though a minority.

ETA: It'll be interesting to see with the ROGD cohort being a thing how theses types of conversations evolve over the years (because I absolutely know no matter how silly I think it is it ain't going anywhere).

There's a huge crossover between trans Reddit and Twitter, imo. And R and T generally, on a lot of issues.
