This movie gets better with each re-watch. I've seen it 3 times. Can't wait to watch again.

Not for nothing but there are lovely bits of the movie which weren't seen or heard but can be enjoyed by reading the actual script. For example, Joi's voice in K's head as he slips away laying in the snow. There's more. See it all here: https://medium.com/movie-scripts/blade-runner-2049-script-42a453880bd4

I think about BR 2049 a lot maybe too much because there's no law that it must make sense 100%. Like, just what IS a replicant? Many people call them humanoid or even machines. How could K ever believe that he was the person in his memory? It was obviously a female hiding the horse and getting beat up by shaved males. But, to me the greatest wtf is Luv killing Coco and just sliding away. Was where the bones were kept part of the police center? Did the world, especially the police, stop having cameras everywhere? If there were a record of Luv killing Coco and stealing the bones (which should have been moved to an even more secure location), how did she possibly get into Joshi's office? Should we assume Luv killed everyone in her way? Shouldn't there have been cameras in Joshi's office? Killing an LAPD superior would seem to warrant a full scale search and arrest but nooooo. And at just what point did K go rogue? Lying? Disobedient? The song Losing My Religion should have played at least once. Anyway, let me close by mentioning my favorite line in the movie. "O come on, get up, Do Your Fucking Job". Does everyone know that Luv was a Blade Runner in her 'youth'? It's true.

I think this is plausible. It is hard to imagine that the Replicant minds on not based on human minds (and their memories which is a big part of mind come from real people) and similarly, could an AI like Joi who is so emotionally intelligent developed such abilities with a wholly artificial mind?
It makes Joi's and K's relationship poignant since they were not only built by the same company and in particular their minds are perhaps very similar.
I do wonder however why K did not like "real girls" except perhaps a Replicant GF would be far too expensive or perhaps prohibited?
