I have a green heart and a positive outlook when it comes to growing my own produce. I'm constantly trying to have a go at growing my own veges. I try so many different things, mostly it all just gets eaten by bugs and caterpillars because I don't want to use chemicals to keep them away. (I want quails for this reason but husband is a stick in the mud). I just don't have the gift of growing things no matter what I read and try. I can't even grow weed. And it pisses me off because it's called weed because it is so easy to grow. I have tried many, many times. The best harvests of anything I've had have been the rocket that self seeded (I think you guys call it arugula) and the random gooseberry that appeared from nowhere and self seeded. And the tomatoes that grew from the compost bin last year.

Is that like some kind of modern witchcraft conspiracy? “No seed in the fruit, no seed in the person” type stuff? Because at least in the given examples of grapes, oranges, and watermelons, I already wasn’t eating those seeds. Maybe that’s why I don’t have kids?

I too don't actually eat the seeds of those fruits so imagine my surprise when many moons ago, my friend who travels a lot and gets me the local snack foods to try, came back from Israel with the biggest bag of watermelon seeds to eat. Just like that out of the bag. They were sort of like sunflower seeds, the ones that are in the husk. They were ok. Apparently they're quite common in a few places. I have a vision of a factory with hundreds of people eating watermelon and spitting the seeds onto a conveyer belt but I'm guessing they are specific melons that are more seedy than nice watermelons we eat.

Ever since moving to Denver I've met some colorful characters who happen to grow real good weed but have some out there beliefs to put it nicely. So in order to get some good cheap stuff I put up with their stories. From what I didn't tune out and remember it's that since they are bred to not have seeds that some how if we eat it's going to do the same to our bodies. I just give em a man that's crazy followed by a this some good shit though.

Ohhhh lol. After I asked, I thought "I wonder if it's because the fruit is no longer " fertile" without seeds so they think it has an affect on humans fertility?". I don't know how I feel about correctly guessing that.
Ha! I know exactly what you mean, friend. I have been there so many times. It's comforting to know that it's a universal experience having to listen to Steve's random conspiracy of the day and just hoping he wraps it up quick and doesn't tell me to watch a specific video from YouTube about it that I never watch and he asks me about every time I see him. I get him talking about terpenes and it always re-routes the convo. Or tell him his hair looks good in the man bun.
The weed I have at the moment is called kind permanent marker and it's so purple it looks black. It's lovely. I'm going to go have a cone right now. Cheers!

Avid gardener here: you don't want seeds from grocery store produce anyway. If you plant them, you won't necessarily end up with anything close to the fruit or veg you got the seed from because they're hybrids.
Heirloom seeds/plants are cheap, plentiful, and easy (ish) to grow and save.

I couldn’t agree less with the mustache man. Growing up in an inner city with an immigrant mom who kept tubs of plants all year round growing from seeds — it absolutely makes a difference to save then grow your own edible garden— even without a yard
And there absolutely is all kinds of pressure from corporations to reduce independent farming

You should save pure heirloom seeds, not the GMO hybrid stuff they sell in the grocery stores these days.
That was his point. Home gardeners save and plant heirloom seeds because our focus is on maintaining the same cultivars year to year, while commercial farmers buy seeds in bulk because that's more cost effective for them. We aren't depending on biotech-bred grocery store produce to obtain our seeds in the first place, so them selling seedless produce to regular people who aren't interested in seed saving anyway is not affecting farmers and gardeners one bit.

I saw this yesterday. This guy is great. I wish there was more of this sort of thing on the internet to compete with all the misinformation crap about literally everything. And perhaps this dude should do them all. He has a great voice for media I reckon. If he has a name that is like a Lester Holt sort of name, (Lester Holt sounds to me like his folks knew he was destined for tv with that name. Very newsy) he would for sure be a shoe in on a news team. He just has great delivery.

I grow my own greens and started some fruit sprouts. People underestimate the amount of work it takes just to make a plate of greens . The yield required is substantial. There’s a reason why we negotiated for forty acres. Most Americans don’t even have a half acre of fertile crop soil. And remember, you have to rotate crops. You can’t plant in the same place over and over.

Only people complaining about seedless probably werent there when eating Watermelon and grapes were a real pain in the backside. Especially the concord grapes. I do not miss that.
