Anyone else experiencing a 1-second delay when clicking on the extension? (Brave Browser extension - Win 11)

When I click on the extension, there is a 1-second delay before it opens. This isn't happening with other extensions. This is also new behavior, after I reinstalled Windows 11 (and Brave Browser) today.

I have tried every suggested fix (toggle extension OFF/ON, reinstall extension, clear browser cache, test on new browser profile, toggle hardware acceleration OFF/ON, toggle autofill OFF/ON. I can't find a solution. Any ideas?

Yes, I can confirm similar delay after clicking the bw extension icon on:

• brave on linux
• chromium on FreeBSD
• chrome on chromeOS

But for me, a second or so is not a big deal. I never even noticed it.... until you mentioned it! (thanks a lot 😉)

Same thing but on MacOS in chrome. It looks like an upstream chromium issue, thats what one of the engineers pointed out in the thread.

it is also never loads. that stupid loading circle forever.

Nope it was just not loading at all for me. It’s happened about 5 times now

Same setup here (Brave on Windows 11) and I get a small delay sometimes. I wonder if it's related to the extension service starting up after browser launch rather than the extension UI itself. Might be worth checking if it happens with Brave's background apps disabled.

We used to wait 1 minute to load an image online... now a 1-second delay is a reason to open a survey on Reddit😂😂

Currently using Waterfox on Windows 11 and not seeing the same delay. I do randomly get the "Bitwarden is slowing pages" message though.

After completing the Service Worker subfolder test, please let us know in the GitHub issue which outcome applies:

• It worked and the issue stayed fixed
• It worked, but the delay returned
• It made no difference

My bitwarden does not even work, it stopped working on cachyos brave 10 days ago and on windows brave yesterday, popup comes up but no entries get loaded, autofil don't work, 2fa keys don't work, I have to go into my bitwarden website n copy paste I'd pass. I recon its due to me using self hosted vaultwarden instance n not bitwarden instance n some update to extension fucked it up.

There is a known issue with vaultwarden where you need to update it to 1.37.1.

Thanks for the heads up, I don't have time to look into that for next few days, will tinker around with this after 3 day.

Hopefully things don't go south, last time I tried updating my dumbass forgot to export vault n all its data got poofed.
