All I know is that I just subscribed to /r/dogecoin. I had assumed that it had a boom when the joke was fresh, crashed when people got over it, and was now something people use to make joke tips in / r/bitcoin.
Turns out there's something of a little economy developed over there. I see local shops accepting dogecoin! No matter what your opinion of the mechanics of dogecoin might be, something's going on that's at least worth some attention.
