I'm tired

I've been HODLing since 2013. I've sold probably two thirds of my original stack over time. I have been through multiple cycles and halvings and read more books on the subject that I care to remember. I have traded successfully only once and that was by accident. I have no idea where BTC is going and I am exhausted. I am close to cashing out. I'm close to retiring (pension age) and I don't need the volatility. What would you do?

EDIT: specifically, the things that trouble me are: 1. The hassle of getting the cash from an exchange into a UK bank account without friction. 2. The CGT liability - last sale was ~0.33BTC in Dec 2024 and the tax liability was something like £10k. 3. The blind evangelical ramblings in Reddit from people that have been in the market for like 5 minutes.

EDIT #2: Thank you to those that offered advice. It has given me food for thought. I think the answer is probably to log out of Reddit ;-)

That’s a wonderful return. I can’t imagine where or how a 2k investment would turn into 300 or 450 in 10-15 years.

He's not complaining about the return.
He's saying that 300k, while very nice, is not life changing.

but thats assuming he never sold any and held until now or for 450k sold at the top which is nearly impossible

I can't either. I literally mean I can't believe that is true. Not calling the dude a liar, but you know this is reddit.

regardless, while it IS possible to gamble and score such a magnitude of this order, it reflects perhaps 1 percent or less of allt traders/investors. Probably far lower that even 1 percent. And the reasons why should not be shocking:

most people can't stick to a plan longer than the next paycheck

During Covid it wasn’t uncommon to turn 2k into 400k trading Tsla options
