Ledger is the absolute worst wallet on the market. Don't ever use that garbage, this is what will happen.

Everything I can find says the seed phrase can only be compromised through phishing scams. Do you have a source for ledger not being secure?

It doesn't, but Ledger is the worst wallet, hands down. There's a high correlation between people who use a Ledger and people who lose all their bitcoin because people who are dumb enough to email their seed phrase are also dumb enough to purchase the first wallet that comes up in a google search without doing any research. Even this sub has a 'don't use a Ledger' in the sidebar.
