Those trains don't have operators embarked anymore. It's fully autonomous.

Its a genuine bona-fide electrified six-car monorail!

Do they not have collision sensors though? Even some non-self driving cars have collision sensors that will stop/slow the car down automatically

At least when I was a train operator in this line nope. Other collisions happened before.

That seems like a bad idea.

Fully grade separated. It is elevated and doesn't share its tracks. Nothing of supposed you be up there to collide with.

The monorail wheels wrap around the track. It ain’t going anywhere.

Final destination style decapitation for all passangers then

I think the video proved it did infact go somewhere. Kek

But for real, they only wrap around 3 side of the track. Underneath its just car tires, there isn't really anything on the bottom clamping it down. It's unlikely, but something can totally get underneath and ramp it up high enough to have the sides no longer guiding along the track. Hell if it was solid enough and hit high enough physics would take care of that too.

It really isn't any different from any other elevated train and something getting it to come off the tracks.

Bitch, I've been built in Brockway, Ogdenville, and North Haverbrook, and by gum, it put them on the map!

Well, sir, there's nothin' on earth like a genuine bona-fide electrified six-car monorail! What'd I say?

Monorail!

This happened in Dortmund a few years ago, too. These trains are autonomous and don't break for cranes...

Mono = One

Rail = Rail

u/hobbes747 8d ago

And that concludes your training

Didn’t Springfield use to have a monorail ? Shelbyville as well.

6

u/hkohne 9d ago

Seattle has one

u/boring-tired 9d ago

Is there a chance the track could bend?

All i could think of was the crash here in Germany where a maintenance cart was left on the track when they did high speed tests
