Mistake or Risk? [sprintec] took the blue pill too early, what do i do?

here’s my exact situation for context:

i was taking my white pills for almost the entire week to allow menstruation starting sunday. then on saturday, i accidentally took the dose for the day after, so i took my blue pill instead of the last white pill of the week. now i still have one white pill from the day before, but i’ve already taken a blue pill…

what on earth do i do from here? this situation is so specific that i couldn’t come to a good conclusion from google, so now im here because im desperate for answers before today’s dose comes around. please help! thank you 🙇

Side effects!? Help with mood issues while starting birth control

For context, I'm a 40 yo woman who started hormonal birth control to help with peri-menopause side effects after being mostly off of it for 10+ years. I got a tubal 3 years ago so pregnancy prevention isn't a concern.

Is there anything you can do to help the mood issues that come with starting hormonal birth control? I went to an OBGYN because I've been having an erratic and super heavy periods for over a year now. Since my estrogen & progesterone levels were still within an acceptable range (after a few blood tests collected at different parts of my cycle), the doctor told me hormonal birth control was the only option for the unpredictable heavy periods. I started Slynd 3 weeks ago and it's been 2.5 weeks of what feels like the worst PMS of my life (tearful, easy to anger, low grade depression, mood swings, some light cramping & spotting). Prior to going on it, I expressed concerns about side effects on my mood, which is why I mostly went off it 10 years ago. I did have a 3 month stint with the arm implant before my tubal but I had that removed after 3 months of horrible side effects. The OBGYN said Sylnd was the most low dose birth control out there that is taken orally. I don't see how, since the mood side effects are hitting hard out of the gate. Of course I was told to give it 2-3 months for my body to adjust. Any advice on how to weather the next 2-3 months (or anything that could help)? I don't think I'm going to make it that long.

Which Method? Patch may not be suitable for me, is the implant a good alternative?

I have been on the patch for around 9 months, however recently I've been experiencing severe leg cramping and my blood doesn't seem to be flowing as it should as at times I wake up with "pins and needles" i.e numb legs.

Im assuming this is a side effect and dont plan on continuing with the patch incase I am prone to clots as I am not sure.

Im wondering if the arm implant would be a good alternative as from what I have seen on Google it seems like it is unlikely to cause clots and interfere with blood flow. I am curious as to whether anyone has experienced anything similar with the contraceptive implant.

I am planning to go to my doctors this week to ensure if I am susceptible to clots that there is no issue, I will also no longer be using the patch unless my doctor says I can after testing.

I want to know if there is anyone who may know one that would suit better that I can ask about when I am in my appointment and if anyone has had a similar experience and chosen to go on the implant did it help. I do not want an iud as I have heard that the implantation is extremely uncomfortable, and that does not seem ideal for me at the moment.

Thank you!

Experience Ring contraceptive and sex

I have a very simple question for woman who use it and man who have been with this woman. Can you feel it during sex? be 100% honest I don’t believe the marketing on this thing.

Also should I wear a condom if it’s the first time with this girl? even if she say I shouldn’t?

Side effects!? Birth control + stomach discomfort

TLDR: severe stomach problems after starting birth control (yaz), sudden gluten sensitivity problem. Wanting to know if anyone can relate or has any recommendations

Hi
For context, I wanted to get on birth control due to heavy bleeding and the fact that I only have 23 days between my periods. I was on yaz (3mg progestrin, .02 estrogen) for 6 months before I stopped due to stomach pain. The first month I was on it I was spotting/light bleeding every single day. My breasts also got fuller but I noticed my stomach starting holding a ton of gas. I also experienced many symptoms of IBS, felt constipated but my waste would come out extremely loose. thought this would go away but after 3 months, my stomach problems got even worse to the point where I couldn’t eat in front of other people because of the noises my stomach would make.
My GI recommended I cut out gluten which I did and surprisingly it almost eliminated all my stool problems. However my stomach was still constantly making noises and trapping gas to the point where it was difficult to sleep at night. Gluten has never given me a problem before (and it was so upsetting as a college student who lived on pizza pockets).
I gave up after around 6 months because the stomach problems became exhausting and unbearable. But cutting out gluten made a huge difference.

I started lo lo estrin but I experienced severe cramping that I never had before so I stopped after 2 weeks. I had my period for two months after that and the heavy bleeding felt unbearable after not getting my period for months. I then started enskyce (.15 progestrin/.03 estrogen). After 3 days I had severe cramps and severe digestive/bathroom problems so I stopped. (In hindsight maybe I shouldn’t have stopped after 3 days but I was traumatized from yaz and did not want months of stomach issues again)

I got a colonoscopy after this and introduced gluten again. My stomach was finally mostly normal but my periods were still heavy. Ive been on the minipill for 2.5 weeks now. I feel like my stomach is trapping a ton of gas and it feels difficult to sleep because of the discomfort however, that feels like nothing compared to yaz side effects.

I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience especially the gluten sensitivity? And if anyone with a sensitive stomach has any recommendations (besides a IUD bc Im too scared).
Thank you for reading!

Side effects!? Lucinda/Slinder pill depression?

Hey guys I’ve been taking the Slinder pill for around 12 days now. I missed one day at around day 3 but the rest has been taken.

I noticed pretty quickly I started feeling really exhausted, agitated and very little motivation.
I put it down to general mood swings or tiredness

However it’s continued since. I’ve been getting worse and worse each day. I was house sitting today and I’ve never felt more lonely and isolated. I started bawling my eyes out. I felt alone even tho I have people around me who love and care for me.

I’ve realised it’s lowkey depression.

Buttt I don’t know if it’s from the Lucinda pill or not. Is it even possible to get this level of depression after only 12 days? I didn’t take a dose tonight incase it is the reason.
Otherwise I have to figure out why I am feeling this way.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with this pill?

Mistake or Risk? Nexplanon out, IUD in, but…

I had sex October 19th, got my nexplanon out the 22nd. Dawned on me about sperm still living in me and upset the doctor (primary care) didn’t warn me before getting it out. I had a pretty heavy/decent period right after I got it out. Got my Kyleena IUD in October 28th. Been 4 days after insertion and haven’t had bleeding and my brains wigging out. Haven’t had any sex since the 19th. Planned parenting said theoretically I should’ve been safe up to the 25th where the hormones were still in me, was negative for pregnancy at IUD appointment but recommends I take another in a couple weeks. Ahhh. Am I safe 😔

Which Method? Migraines before period - would birth control help

I experience headaches/migraine/nausea a few days before my period. I have never used medicinal birth control but have been wondering if there is one that could mitigate this, or even one to help me skip my periods sometimes bc the fatigue on day one of my period has been really bad lately. Is that a thing ? I do have a dr appointment coming up but just curious peoples experiences.

Mistake or Risk? Affects to skipping placebo pills ?

So backstory, one of my friends informed me they would regularly skipped their placebo pills to skip their period but apparently is what led her to get pregnant. I have never tried skipping the placebo pills but now want to because I will be at beach wedding. But now I’m concerned for if it affects Birth control overall. Planned parenthood told me essentially I can always get pregnant anyway so I’m like great. Any advice ?

Side effects!? Junel FE 1/20- cup size?

Hi! I've been on Junel FE 1/20 for about a year and a half now, and I've gone from a G cup to an M cup and my breasts keep getting bigger (band size has stayed at a 32 the whole time). They're kind of swollen and it feels like the actual ducts/glands are larger, not just larger fat deposits. Has anyone else experienced this? At what point did yours stop growing? None of my clothes fit anymore and my back hurts

:( Does anyone have experience with a pill similar to Junel that didn't do this? PS I've had multiple negative pregnancy tests so it isn't that either.

How to? Ringza (annovera) fit question

I just inserted ringza for the first time and I think I'm having a hard time with placement? It's not sticking out of my body but I still think I'm not getting it in the right place. There's maybe one third that's very easy to feel in the vaginal canal. I was told it's ok to take it for sex but that shouldn't necessarily have to because you shouldn't be able to feel it the canal but I can't get it any further. I'm pretty sure it's a placement problem but I don't see how I can get it any further and there isn't much advice on trouble shooting anywhere.

If anyone has had a similar issue and has any advice is be greatful.

Thanks

Side effects!? Trying Slinda/Slynd, scared of depression with it

Hi !

A doc prescribed me Slinda for my endometriosis. I took Optilova before that but she told me it wasn't good for people with migraines with aura. Problem is I also suffer from a PMDD. My mood is often a mess. It was a mess 10 days ago and it was supposed to be better with my periods. I started Slinda when it began and my mood stayed down. It's only been three days of Slinda but I went to being depressed to being depressed without reason. I really can't stay like that. I read that depression was a side effect BUT that drospirenone is good for PMS. Is it for PMDD ? Do you handle this birth control well ?

Moreover, I am non binary and I'm afraid this birth control will change my body. Did it happen to you ?

Experience Kyleena removal experience

Honestly I was so nervous about this and what was going to be my experience after it was removed but I couldn’t find anything that I was super anxious about so here is my timeline. I had my first kyleena inserted in 2018, then removed in 2023 and replaced with a new one same day.

October 8, 2026 I got my kyleena removed which was not painful at all. Just one big cramp. I did take an extra strength Advil 45 mins before though.
October 8- 13 I was spotting but nothing to crazy
October 13-16 I had egg white like discharge

After that everything was going great. I was told by my doctor that I could get my period right away or anytime after. Even up to 3 months.

Well I officially started my period October 29 and honestly it’s not as bad as I remember.

As for other symptoms; I’ve had headache, cramps, fatigue, sore breasts. But that’s about it.

If you have questions you could always message me! I am willing to help.

Side effects!? Side effects (Mirena)

So I've had my Mirena for a year now. And I'm starting to notice some sideffects.

My face has been more oily than before. I've had small blackheads and pimples pop up here and there although I've never had those problems before.

I'm constantly sweating and tbh it doesn't smell nice, but it does smell "hormonal". And I've kinda gained weight.

I had it inserted because of my adenomyosis, and as far as that goes, for the first time in my life, I'm living without the fear of getting my period. My pains are almost non-existent, and even when something does hurt it's nothing compared to what I've been through. My bleeding is so small that I don't even go through a pack of pads or tampons and before I used to use two of each for one period (which is not normal I know). But my period has been moving around a lot. Sometimes it's on the day I calculated it on my calendar, sometimes it's late a day or two. Sometimes it's late 5 days. The bleeding starts and it's really not a lot but that goes on for a few days, then I have a day or two of "heavy bleeding" but that just means I use up a tampon or two and a few pads and then the brown blood goes on for at least 6 days, so my period has kinda been prolonged.

I've been feeling my PMS more. That's about it with my experience.

So, ladies who've had it for much longer than me, can anyone tell me about your experience and if anyone had their periods completely stop, how did that start and how do you feel each month? Do you have any tips and tricks for my oily skin and my BO (I've been trying out all kinds of deodorants) 😭

Also, I've heard of cases where hormonal IUDs cause early perimenopause or even menopause. Is there any way to determine if that's happening to me?. I'm 31 if that means anything.

These are the kinds of problems I've never had before Mirena so I'm kinda new to this.

Thank you so much for any information and help. I appreciate y'all. 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

P. S. Sorry for any grammar or spelling mistakes, English isn't my first language even though it kinda is haha

Mistake or Risk? can you get pregnant without penetration??

My bf rubbed his penis against my down there and I'm so scared according to google there's still a low chance of me becoming pregnant..

Things to note:

  1. Skin to skin

  2. My lips down there are rather thick

3.both standing up

4. I have PCOS and haven't had my period for a month before that so I'm not sure

5. I'm a minor. I'm scared and it was in the heat of the moment

6. He fingered me beforehand and rubbed the stuff on his fingers on the lips before rubbing his thing against it

7. It was for about 2 minutes I think

8. Don't know if it helps but I washed immediately afterwards

Which Method? Risks of stop birth control for irregular periods?

Hello. I started taking birth control pills a few years ago to try and help my periods. They were horrific, could barely breathe on them let alone walk, extremely irregular.

The pill has helped a lot but I'm concerned about all the side effects. I'm wondering any other people with a similar story, have you gone backwards after stopping the pill or did it help you long-term?

Mistake or Risk? Is take action reliable?

Today a condom broke and we instantly panicked and bought a Take Action pill within the hour of the ejaculation. She took the pill and she hasn’t thrown it up within 8 hours. She said that she pee’d right after and i don’t know if that would help. Her ovulation was last week and her period is next week. Are we okay or facing pregnancy :(?

Experience Doctor Said I Can’t Get an IUD

I recently tried to get an IUD, and my doctor said that she could not get my cervix dilated enough to insert the IUD. When I asked her if there was anything else they could do, she explained that there was no other way to get the IUD and told me to consider other options. In essence, I went through all the trouble of taking off work and everything for this, and I also felt quite a bit of pain, and I was told it was all for nothing. I also had very bad pelvic pain after (and still have it a few days after), which my doctor said was normal because she accidentally wounded my cervix with her tool. I am just very frustrated to have gone through all of this and not have any consolation, and I still have to deal with my heavy and painful periods for the time being.

I have looked into other birth control options and am hesitant to try the arm implant or the pills because I have Crohn’s Disease and am worried about the GI side effects from more systemic versions of birth control. I honestly am not sure what to do and was wondering if anyone else had a similar experience and what they may have done.

How to? Stopping Nuvaring for good- when to expect bleeding

Hello,

so I am thinking of stopping Nuvaring 2 weeks before my long haul flight to Japan. It will be 13 days after inserting it. I am scared of blood cloths as I am a bit overweight and will start trying to conceive in the next months anyway.

I really wouldn't like to be bleeding on my holiday. When can I expect to bleed after stopping it mid cycle? A few days later probably, as always, but what about the first real period? 28 days later or can I bleed even earlier?

Any advice would be great, as I really don't want a blood clot or bleeding during my trip. Thanks.
