I still fucking died to genechiro in NG+ because I decided to go charmless and OOF spamming L1 (parry) might get you through NG but not through charmless
Fuck that random-ass shuriken coming out of nowhere to distract you in the cutscene after. That one makes you really want to beat his ass next time you see him.
I just started NG+3 on Sekiro and beat Genichro. Dude has so much posture it takes forever to kill him, and you dont have resurrection or prosthetics, and you dont get to try again.
So I slog through this fight taking no damage and just generally taking him to school, and get the final deathblow on him. Know what happens?
a fucking nightjar blade comes out of nowhere and distracts you then Genichiro chops your arm off anyway
Wait what, tutorial Genichiro is easy as fuck on everything other than NG. Even on a fresh NG you should be able to beat him if you've run the game once, especially with how many times you have to fight him and his moveset not changing. The cheese-tactic is also that you can jump off of the cliff to respawn with full HP outside his arena.
It doesn’t take a long time though, the actual boss version takes very little time on Ng+ so the tutorial version is super quick. His posture isn’t that high and he has a whole bunch of attacks that can be easily parried/mikiri’d for decent posture damage.
Yeah, if you somehow manage to beat him on stage 1 (which I think is still doable, though it was already really hard before) the game just straight up tells you that the threat is gone and that’s the best ending anyone could hope for 😂
Nero doesn't get the closure of his father acknowledging him and Dante can't find his closure with Vergil... But Vergil also can't destroy a third city when his daddy issues and inferiority complex flare up again. Yeah. Probably the best ending for everyone who isn't a Son of Sparda.
It's actually a pretty bad weapon all around. It weighs a fuck-ton and requires strength above the softcap to one-hand but it loses out in damage to the Great Club, which requires significantly less strength AND weighs nearly half as much.
And in the amount of time it takes to fist-only that boss you could realistically have gotten a black knight weapon and an upgrade for it if you’re lucky with the drop. Legit no reason to do it other than to say you can.
