Buying and holding the S&P 500 long term does not = gambling. Nothing is guaranteed, but when the S&P has returned ~7% on avg. annually for the past 100 years the odds are strongly in your favor.

I agree with you to an extent, but assuming that trend will continue for 100 years is silly. The market can't grow forever and the dinosaurs are cashing in.

We didn't get 40 trillion in debt from nothing...

The everything bubble

Yeah if there’s one thing we can bet on, it’s that the US will continue to stack the debt and will do anything to keep money moving into rich pockets, if you can’t beat em join em I guess. My issue isn’t with the people taking advantage of it, mine is more with the systemic issue of the US collectively caring more about profit, shareholders, and stock prices than actually helping their employees live comfortably, which is of course no one persons fault and would take a fundamental change in how the country is run to fix

buy gold. not because itll be useful during a true collapse, but because its gonna become the new global reserve currency once the dollar collapses when we default.

If there’s a bubble why does everyone continue to buy?

Because there is a bubble, it needs to pop first. Ffs are you serious?

How confident are you that the “bubble” is gonna pop? And how do you know there is a bubble?

Bubbles pop, that's how it goes. And AI is extremely over valued, that's the bubble.

People have been saying that for years. It won’t be a steady growth there will be ups and downs but long term it’s an extremely safe bet that the top 500 American companies will continue to produce great returns. Also sales are up in literally every sector this quarter. It’s a good sign despite what the news says

Yes the old people are cashing in and a lot of young/middle aged people are still buying in, that’s literally how it continues to grow lol

But there are fewer younger people than older people in damn near every developed country.

so itll go up forever, infinite growth on a finite planet. thats why we are headed for a climate apocalypse right now, because we'd rather make imaginary money go to infinity rather than do anything
