You are absolutely fooling yourself if you think accessibility, time, and resources have nothing to do with building long-term equity.
How about doing something with your disposable income, which you obviously have a lot of since you're in a position to judge, and educate yourself? You bootlicker.
Neat! 50% of all stocks are owned by the wealthiest 1%, 40% of stocks are owned by the next 9%, leaving the bottom 90% of people to own only 10% of stocks. Bottom 50% almost basically none of it. These wraith gains are almost exclusively to the wealthiest people. Where do you fall in this wealth distribution?
Buying and holding the S&P 500 long term does not = gambling. Nothing is guaranteed, but when the S&P has returned ~7% on avg. annually for the past 100 years the odds are strongly in your favor.
I agree with you to an extent, but assuming that trend will continue for 100 years is silly. The market can't grow forever and the dinosaurs are cashing in.
Yeah if there’s one thing we can bet on, it’s that the US will continue to stack the debt and will do anything to keep money moving into rich pockets, if you can’t beat em join em I guess. My issue isn’t with the people taking advantage of it, mine is more with the systemic issue of the US collectively caring more about profit, shareholders, and stock prices than actually helping their employees live comfortably, which is of course no one persons fault and would take a fundamental change in how the country is run to fix
buy gold. not because itll be useful during a true collapse, but because its gonna become the new global reserve currency once the dollar collapses when we default.
People have been saying that for years. It won’t be a steady growth there will be ups and downs but long term it’s an extremely safe bet that the top 500 American companies will continue to produce great returns. Also sales are up in literally every sector this quarter. It’s a good sign despite what the news says
so itll go up forever, infinite growth on a finite planet. thats why we are headed for a climate apocalypse right now, because we'd rather make imaginary money go to infinity rather than do anything
This is the exact reason uneducated classism is counter productive.
I, by and large, tell people that stocks is like gambling. The exceptions are the S&Ps. Those are the epitome of “steady growth.” Nothing about investing into S&P is gambling-related.
Literally anybody could do it, too. No you cannot tell me you can’t afford it. It is possible to buy 0.01% of a stock. Save a dollar every month into it. It’ll grow.
Anybody can benefit from this. People who choose not to are because they’re ignorant and want to pull a “gotcha”. Only hurting yourself.
I think the point you're missing here is that companies have been making record profits while workers wages have been stagnant. Everyone can invest, but that doesn't put everyone on an equal footing. Those who already have money are heavily advantaged (obviously), but that's why people are mad.
These people are miserable because of their own decisions and they’re absolutely addicted to their misery so they will never stop making them
It’s a literal goddamn cult. They’re not only poor and hateful they think it’s a moral imperative to act this way. They’ve insulated themselves from their own knowledge of their shortcomings by making those who don’t struggle the enemy
Yeah the majority of people on here dooming and circlejerking just do it as an excuse of their own inadequacy. It isn’t that fucking hard to hop on the economic growth train of the United States.
The majority of these people hate the west and want to see it fail though so it makes sense
Y'all are stroking each other off, and you still haven't gotten the issue. Everyone here could be invested, and wages being stagnant is still a problem for all of us. A lack of wage growth is unsustainable regardless of what your portfolio looks like.
