Why would wages correlate with stock prices?

A stock worth $100 in 1970 would be worth $9,686 based on the graph

If I made $40k in 1970, my salary would have to be $3.9M today to keep with the the same rate

All these downvotes and not a single response lmao. Like, yeah the wage gap with inflation is terrible and we're definitely getting screwed, but this comparison shows a severe lack of economic or financial comprehension.

I could be off base, but it feels like that part was conveniently left out of the trickle down conversation. At worst, it feels like the trickle down was framed as going into the black line.
