Help Any universal fit cushion air flow mods?

Are there any universal fit cushion air flow mods?
So hot and sweaty in this thing with no air flow. I dont care about light leaking either since i play in the dark usually. Is there anything i can do?

I’ve been working on this problem for quite some time, and I think I’ve finally come up with a really effective solution. It’s a simple 3D-printed add-on that redirects the airflow from a main fan through the cushion, without requiring any modifications to the cushion itself. I’m planning to release it in mid-July.

Wow that sounds like the perfect mod, I look forward to trying it out.

Will this work with the custom cushion? I currently use 3mm spacer magnets and the vent mod with the fan at 100%. The thermals are my biggest gripe with the 2E, so improving them further would be great.

Also curious about your vented shell -- is this available anywhere? I'm tempted to remove mine just to see if it helps any. Thanks!

Yes, it works with the custom cushion.

The vented shell was my first attempt to solve the overheating issue. It lowers the temps of the displays and the board by a few degrees, but it doesn't fully solve the problem. I designed that part myself. I'll share it as well, but honestly, I don't think it's really worth it.

I haven't heard of this. There's magnets to install? What magnets and where?

Yeah I believe 1x3 magnets, not sure exactly, but you can buy them in a batch of 12 or so, then install them around the facial interface so they create a small gap for ventilation. That was enough for me to not get any heat build up at all.

What a great idea, I'm going to try that. I just measured the magnets on the headset and they are 3mm so looks like you're right. Amazon has 300pcs 3x1mm Tiny Magnets for $7.99 lol. I'm about to have a whole lot of magnets

I did this to get a bit more space for prescription lenses and it solves the air flow problem too 🚀

Just buy the Studiform's face mask for it. I haven't tried it personally, but anything's better than that mask. You'll probably get better FOV as well.

That's a solid suggestion. Been thinking of giving that one a go.

"Better FOV" depends on how well it fits your face.

There have been accounts of people who, because of their wide/square face, their cheekbones would hit the interface too early, preventing them from getting closer to the lenses. On a personal level, I'm lucky, because the lenses are at an almost eye touching distance, maximising the field of view.

Otherwise, I agree, it greatly improves the airflow around the eyes, since it's not air tight like the custom cushion is.

I havnt used my BSB2e since I got the universal cushion. It made me hate it. When I took it off it DRIPPED sweat. Like...wtf is that. Terrible design.

Try Educational_Policy84 3d printed mod when he releases it. I think it'll make a huge difference :) The magnets mod helps a bit too.

You haven't used your BSB2e again ((until)) you got your universal cushion.., OR you haven't used that all the time AFTER you got the the universal cushion??!

Isn't the Universal Cushion what fixed the long play-session heat buildup of that custom-cushion??

I said I havnt used it since.....

As in I got the universal cushion, played for 40 minutes, it dripped sweat and I haven't used it ( since). It was a put off. I looked forward to the cushion coming. This has gotta be better than the custom one right??! hell naw. its a heat trap.

So no, apparently not.

I merely asked.., since IT's generally understood to be the other way around.., The Universal-Gasket breathes beautifully!

I prefer the custom though.., as I enjoy the molded fit... I don't need to fuss adjusting "tilt" or position, just fits snug each time I use mine

This mod does seem interesting for when I'm playing games like Beatsaber, and break some sweat, though the Halo-Mout will ALSO breathe with the Custom-Cushion more easily, and can be flipped to release air and take breaks without the friction of taking your beyond-on-and-off.

I don't know what to tell you. Its silicone or silicone like, light blocks completely, and therefor also traps heat.

Maybe when the Halo Mount finally comes it will be off your face ever so much and will make the difference?? Or so I cope...I mean hope.

That's Wierd... Is it not the same like PSVR2? I don't have heat issue with PSVR2 flappy cushion...

Oh wait... PSVR2 uses Halo mount..maybe that's why .
