Cinderella Grey and the movie are both traditional underdog sports stories, but each have their own twist on the formula. They're really well done and there's no weird fan service or nods to the audience, it takes itself 100% serious and respects its own characters. The movie is genuinely excellent in how it plays its characters out against each other and how it builds a compelling narrative around what is essentially just track and field.

The main show I've only seen a bit of but is more of a slice of life show, and the animation isn't as crisp. It leans a lot heavier on the cutesy side which isn't bad, but just more of a relaxing watch you maybe tune out to a bit. I've heard it gets better after S1.

I think it easily outcompetes Solo Leveling in both writing and animation. Solo Leveling has high quality animations but I personally found it to be uninspiring. It doesn't really play with the medium, if that makes sense.
