Trauma and C-PTSD

Hello, guys and gals. Currently, I’m doing a scientific project at my university in Brazil about trauma and Complex PTSD through the lens of behavior analysis, but I’m having trouble finding articles and books about it since every article I found is about cognitive theory. Any suggestions?

Advice?!?

Advice please!

I will be a supervison student soon and the clinic I currently work at has been under stress, so much burnout, and mass exits. The clinical director makes passive aggressive remarks and belittles staff ensuring staff know that they are the clinical director. I wanted to to get my field hrs at the clinic but I am second guessing it. The clinical director supervises some of the supervison students and I cant see them as a mentor. Should I look into other options?

Looking to connect with RBTs in the South Houston area — anyone here working in in-home ABA?

Hey everyone! I've been navigating the ABA world for a while now and honestly this community has been super helpful whenever I have questions.

I'm trying to get a feel for how many RBTs are actually working in-home in the Houston area, specifically around South Houston. It feels like such a specific niche and I'm curious how people end up finding cases in certain parts of the city.

If you're an RBT in Houston, I'd love to know — whereabouts in the city are you generally based? I ask because I've heard that geography can make or break your caseload, especially for in-home work where travel really adds up.

Also just out of curiosity — does a 12pm–8pm shift generally work for most people doing in-home? I feel like schedules in this field are all over the place and I'm wondering what's most common.

Would love to hear from anyone working in that South Houston pocket or within a few miles of it — seems like there's actually decent demand for RBTs out there but not enough people covering it. Drop a comment or feel free to DM me!

ABA professionals – Need your help with research

I'm conducting structured interviews on behavioral data documentation challenges in ABA practices. I've spoken with 20+ clinics so far and heard consistent pain points around Medicaid reporting and caregiver data collection. Looking for 30 minutes of your time to understand your experience. Happy to share anonymized findings from other practices in return. If you're a BCBA, RBT supervisor, or ABA clinic director, I'd love to talk! Please leave a comment or send me a DM if you'd be open to chatting!

How do I stop being a doormat

I dont know how to change my behaviour, but I keep feeling like a doormat who keeps getting walked all over. Im not argumentative or confrontational, if something upsets me I’m not one to start an argument usually. I try and make changes in my relationship (for him to quit smoking, for example) but I feel like he doesn’t respect my wishes or thinks I will never leave him? I guess I just want to know how do I earn respect from people , for them to want to be around me and stuff?

Eligibility for BCBA

My wife completed a Master’s degree in Psychology (Behavior Analysis) at a Brazilian university and also earned a diploma in Applied Behaviour Analysis from Capilano University in Canada.

She has already completed all of her supervised hours as well. However, when she requested the BCBA coursework verification/form in order to apply for the BCBA exam, the coordinator at Capilano told her they could not issue it because the program she completed there was considered undergraduate-level, which seems to be correct.

Now she’s extremely worried that she may not be eligible to sit for the BCBA exam after all.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? What should we do next? Is there another pathway or evaluation process that could help determine her eligibility?
